M.A. Colvin Engineering & Consulting, Inc. is a full service engineering firm. We are locally owned and operated by a native of the community. M.A. Colvin is a structural engineering specialist working for Progress Energy (formerly CP&L) simulating hot operational functions. We pride ourselves on the highest quality work delivered in a timely fashion. We can help you with simple beam analysis though complex structural modeling. Our hourly rate is $200 and our minimum fee for a one page sealed letter is $400. We would be happy to serve you and improve the structural safety of our community together.

Contact and appointment time with Mr. Colvin was made immediately. He came out and gave me a good assessment on what was going on with the foundation of my home. Thought the pricing was a bit high, but I felt that he did quality work. Would recommend his business.

I needed an engineer to evaluate a mortar crack in the side of my brick house in order to refinance our home. We were on a time crunch in which I called the engineer that morning and needed his evaluation faxed to the loan processor by 5:00 pm that evening. Mr. Colvin was able to accomodate us and fax his report (favorable) in the time frame needed.
