I hired MD Home Improvement for doing paints and floor fixes in basement. The experience was a breeze, the sales person Harold was on point for communication, very transparent. The guys they sent was pretty good, Turham (electrician) did a fab job and the paint guy (Mark Russo), he was great, he had to come to our house 4 times in between coats etc, but every time he listened and attended to every thing I needed.

5+ Room Interior Painting or Staining
Just got a reminder to rate this company. Frank, who seemed a really nice guy, showed that he is a scam artist and insulted and diminished my intelligence. I hired them during the pandemic while I was moving, dealing with 2 kids and work and I was under a lot of stress to paint the whole house and to finish a basement. Frank said that would take 3 days, took 3 weeks. He blamed an outage (part true) but while the neighbors contractor had a generator to work with, they didn't. Okay, I understand. Now, the problem is the HORRIBLE unfinished work that they didn't complete, despite being paid. And how HORRIBLE Frank disrespected me and how HORRIBLE his work ethics are. (Link with photos below). Why did I pay in full? Because.... 1- I AM A M-O-R-O-N! (lesson learned!) 2- I trusted that Frank said he wanted a happy customer and that he would send his guys next week (that turned into a joke that he kicked for next week, and the next, and when gets another job near my home, ... excuses, plus excuses, .. .never showed up). 3- One of Frank's workers (the main one) told me that he would be back the following week to finish up. 4- Because I didn't realize HOW MANY unfinished things were left!!!!! The basement that they had to "finish" was done very poorly. Let me list some of the few things: - The sheetrock (i paid for materials) that they chose is as thin as a carton board (so nothing can be hung from the walls, not even rod curtains!). - They used my pool table as a work-table and ladder. They hadn't even covered it, so when I saw how dirty it was I asked them to please put a cover. - they installed the brand new floor BEFORE doing the walls so the floor is full of paint stain/residue because they didn't cover it. - the ceiling is not painted well. it is full of bubbles and uneven. - the walls are uneven and not painted well either (an inspector said that they didn't put prime and just gave 1 time paint). - around the hat lights there are HOLES! And one of them falls off all the time. - their "electrician", who isn't actually an electrician, cut one switch of the lights in the room so while before I had 2 switches working, now I have only 1 working. He also cut my electricity in the whole house...TWICE while working! - --->>> unbelievable. They cut a SUPPORT BEAM!!!!!!!! When I saw this, weeks later, Frank said that it was a normal practice called "ripping" but I contacted the inspector and the inspector said that it should have never been done. There were many other ways to install the door well without cutting the beam. In the rest of the house, there were many things left unfinished. I asked those guys SO many times and they said yes yes yes. Well, I thought they would do it. Meanwhile, Frank screams at me that he wasted a lot of money on my house. Frank, I tell you: IF YOU DO NOT HIRE THE RIGHT PEOPLE IF YOU CAN PROVIDE WHAT YOU PROMISE, IT IS NOT MY FAULT. In addition, Frank has come back to me with ridiculous arguments, like his guys have walked through my house with me like 10 times. WHAT????? Here is another ridiculous argument that he told me: that I did not allow his guys to work at my house so that is the reason why they could not finish. WHEN????? I have gone above and beyond to leave my house and let the workers do the job. I could not wait for the workers to be done so I was doing anything possible to leave my home so the workers could work. It was extremely difficult during a pandemic with two kids, and I did it. I could have written a very different review if Frank would have shown up and take responsibility. If he would have finished the work that I paid for and fixed the things that the unprofessional guys that he sub-hired did.

I hired MD Home Improvement to paint 4 bedrooms (one ended up being a wallpaper removal project). I would highly recommend Harold and his team at MD Home Improvement. From the estimate to the final walkthrough, the entire experience was handled professionally and the work was done beautifully. This is one company's business card that will stay in my list of contractors for future projects.

5+ Room Interior Painting or Staining
I hired Harold company To paint my 2 Bedroom townhouse I had not yet moved into. He quickly responded to my request here on HomeAdvisors. I was very happy with the level of customer service and professionalism he presented. He seemed very knowledgeable and about business. He was extremely eager to start the job as quickly as the day after. Almost in a rush. I too was just as excited to get the job done. However, I could not start that weekend. He started on Tuesday and said he had full confidence the job would be a 2 day job after physically coming out and seeing the property. Initially I thought it was great on time as he sent me pictures; it looked like they covered a lot of ground. However, Wednesday came and he said that 2nd day that they should be finished the next day so that was day 3. Then day 3 - Thursday. he said they still were not t finished and would finish things up on Friday. FYI- i moved my date to move in back to Friday from Wednesday to accommodate the paint job yet now it is Friday and they still were not finished. He said that because I was moving in that day; it probably made sense to finish it tomorrow vs that day. Originally I said ok. However, my kitchen contractor said they were waiting on the painters to complete the crown moldings in my kitchen. As he was worried that it would be much harder for them to get into the crevices and the back of the wall once they were on. Harold kept suggesting this is what they do let them keep going and we don?t have an issue with doing it after. So he said they would come by to finish the job on Saturday. Please note: when I arrived at my house on Friday 12/11/2020 this was my first rime visually seeing the progress in person and not from the pictures he sent me from a distance. I was with my boyfriend who is in real estate/rehab construction and my contractor and they both expressed the amateur nature of the paint job. Regardless of it being 100% finished the existing job was inferior and the quality of the work was messy and they did not even follow basic Painting 101 rules 1. Paint was left open overnight - the whole top layer was dried up. That is now eating into the paint that I paid for and wasting product. 2. The work materials were left a strewn all over the place and my contract abs his guys organized it in order for them to work properly. 3. There is paint stains all over the 2nd floor ?brand new floors? I just installed a few weeks prior and some on the 1st floor. They did no properly cover their work area to avoid this. Now I have to find a way to remove this paint all along the top of my stairs and leading into the hallway. 4. The walls were not primed although that is a basic requirement for painting walls regardless of whether it?s dark paint or light paint. I have pictures of all of this. 5. Some areas you can see directly through the paint in streaks and you see the existing color. 6. The ceiling repair from removing my popcorn ceiling was also sloppy. The tape they used to connect the sheet rock is bulging and not seamless and flat. Another professional painter came to look at the job for a quote to fix and finish the job. He told me they need to update that whole section as painting over it; you would see all that imperfection. 7. They also said they would be patching up any small nicks /nail holes etc. they painted right over them and They are not filled. 8. The painters they had in my home that final day 5 when I decided to end the job; looked like they came off the street and I felt very uncomfortable in the house by myself with them. Also when I spoke to them about my frustrations about the job and the timelines, etc they said they were provided inaccurate and aggressive timelines. In his own words he did not know I had moved in and said they are not movers and the job would take much longer now that they had to move and cover my furniture. He also said day 2 he divert...

They are very accommodating. We had a major deck replacement and the project went smoothly as planed and in accordance with the agreed upon fixed price and at a very competitive price. I plan to use them on all our future projects.

Harold and Frank were the Most professional group of individuals I have ever dealt with. They painted my whole house. They were very clean and organized. During a time like this, they wore masks, sanitized, and wore gloves when they could.

Harold came on time to give us a quote; he was willing to work with our ideas and budget. He brought multiple paint samples until we decided on the one we loved. They showed up on time each day and didn t leave until we were happy with the final outcome. Everyone on the team was pleasant and courteous. Harold would ask for our input and was willing to make adjustments as needed. Would definitely call them again and recommend them 100%!! They went above and beyond our expectations!

Frank is not a reliable contractor. I honestly thought he was a good guy and trusted him. . Would think twice about handing him any money. Also I would ask about his insurance - my building would not let him continue to work because he did not have the right paperwork. He took 50% of the money and never showed up to complete the job (assuming his insurance is not valid or something). Paint used was not quality and just overall a poor job even on the one day of work he did complete. I trusted him like a fool and prob will spend more time and money to complete this job with someone else.

Sloppy, left garbage, took over 2 days to pant 2.5 rooms, left paint drippings on cabinet and rug. They were not professional painters just men who paint.

Came to salvage a fence job and ended up hiring them for building our deck. Can t say enough good things. Extremely professional, organized & timely. Keep in contact over the project to make sure progress was to our satisfaction. Made suggestions with deck design and fence stain to help with our dimensions (deck was being put in a non-square back yard). End to end even with weather delays, the project was completed in under a week. Definitely would recommend.

Frank came over to assess the job within 45 mins of our initial call, so his responsiveness is shocking. He s straightforward, honest and thorough and so is his team. It was beyond obvious that his team are experienced, detailed, and talented craftsmen. Everton built our deck with ipe, one of the more difficult woods to work with, chewing up bits and screws every few mins, but his standard for excellence and perfection was unwavering. All cuts and angles and fittings were solid and tight. We couldn t be happier with their hard work, communication, and value. There s a lot of crummy work and carelessness out there, so we re very honored to welcome their skill and energy to our home.
