Michael Gillespie, P.E. personally handles each project and focuses on smaller residential and property-related engineering needs, including plot plans, septic systems, inspections, drainage and grading, site plans, permit assistance, additions, garages, decks, retaining walls, and property consultations. Clients work directly with an experienced Professional Engineer from start to finish.

The search for a structural engineer was difficult,after being turned down by several engineering offices. M.Gillespie & Associates Consulting Engineering P.L.L.C was found,needs were described and a meeting was scheduled with Michael G, immediately. Within a couple of hours, the report was ready. The service was quick, and the price is affordable. The staff is very courteous. Their service is highly recommended and the office wil be used again for the next project.

I needed a structural Engineer report for the building dept. to establish the feasibility of doing a renovation on my cabin which recently suffered a fire. Mike was amazing- first of all, his office secretary is reachable, professional, and responsive. Secondly they were able to get me an appointment within just a few days of my call which I really appreciated after having a hard time even getting other companies on the phone or to call back. Mike was on time, efficient, gave great advice/insight and sent me the report within 5 days of the inspection. Do yourself a favor hire this guy if you need help!!! TJ

BUYER BEWARE!! Hired this company to do plans for a new septic system in November 2023. As of Feb 27 2025 the only thing I have received from Gillespie was a bill and reminder when I didn't pay within days. I contacted the DOH who said they haven't received or heard anything since June 2024 and NO APPLICATION was ever submitted. Very unprofessional. Won't answer emails, rarely calls back.

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience working with Mike Gillespie. It took twice as long as promised for him to send me his report, and that was only after multiple emails and calls to his office. Once he finally sent his report it contained very little useful information and some completely incorrect recommendations (for example, he stated that "LVLs do not come pressure treated for exterior use" which is just false and I have found several suppliers of this exact product). In my initial follow up to the report, he was quick to reply but subsequent questions have so far gone unanswered. In my view, the site visit and report was a complete waste of $2800 and delayed my project by several weeks. I know that the firm is well reviewed (which is why I chose them in the first place) but my experience did not reflect those high ratings.

My husband and I are residents of Salt Point, NY and we are building a shed/greenhouse on our property. Our town building inspector is new, undergoing training and was unavailable to inspect the foundation walls and steel reinforcements prior to the concrete pour. The town approved us to use a licensed engineer to inspect in his place the evening before our pour date. We called Mike's office the morning of the pour and his team, Candy, was able to get him in touch with us right away, Mike was out within an hour, inspected and approved our project, with an hour to spare before the pour! He got us the approval certification letter with reference images the same day. Mike got us out of a really time sensitive, stressful situation, and we couldn't be more grateful and appreciative of his expertise and professionalism. Highly recommend! Thank you, Mike!

Drawing delivery was delayed by one week but staff personally deliver at home and explained details. Was able to get town permit. Waiting for parts to start and complete project. Hoping If needed this consulting engineering will guid thru to vet CO too. Staff is very courteous and friendly too. I will recommend anyone to this for their project. Shailesh shah

Do not hire this guy. Wish I had looked here for reviews before hiring. The first week of April 2021 Mike came out looked at my project which is a garage renovation. Sent me a proposal and I paid his retainer fee. The next week he sent his architect who took photos and measurements and I gave him the only copy I have of my property survey. Since then, I have had nothing. Mike does not return emails or phone calls. The rare occasion that I have reached him by phone he makes promises such as **I will have something for you tomorrow** and then I do not hear from him again. It is near the end of June now and I have nothing for my money!

I apologize if you misunderstood the approximate completion but unfortunately the municipalities are out of our control. Your project is continuing to be worked on in a timely fashion. Do not hire. Does not return calls. Took 4 month to complete plans, still waiting. Overcharged by $2000 and had to be corrected. We paid on time every time and did not receive services. Does not return email, does not return calls. Did not attend a meeting in his office... left me in the office to wait for 25 minutes for an appointment and then had his secretary cancel it on me. Went to meet the next week and he was still late. Do not hire.
