DO NOT USE!!! Will take the money but not finish the work. Very sloppy job at everything done and triple charges for materials. This is a person will take advantage of you and take your money.

When Diego Gatto of Miami Handyman came to my home and give me an estimate to build and install sliding shelves in my kitchen, he was polite, friendly and returned my calls etc. Living in Miami, this impressed me, and I wrongly thought that his work would also be professional. He emailed me an invoice which was pricey but possible. At that time, I had a bad cold and cough and was not thinking (at all) so I gave him a cash deposit of $1000.00.He only took cash or checks. On the day he began the job, I was still unwell, and it was only after he left my house that I realized just how bad his work was? This included drilling a screw through my cabinet wall, cutting up one of my cabinet shelves for the job without asking, using glides that were 2inches too small, installing wood that was not sanded or stained, but still rough and showing burns from the blunt saw he must have used and not bothering make correct measurements so that one of the shelves fell apart in my hands! I left him a voice message telling him his work was so bad that he should not return or expect the balance. However, he still had $1000.00 of my cash deposit for 'materials 'and 'work ' that were only worth about $150.00. I sent him a text message asking him to call or meet to resolve this, after a few more text messages along in this line of conversation including an offer by me to accept $700.00, he continued to claim that I owed him the $1000.00. I finally called the Home Advisor Customer Resolution Dept. and made a formal complaint. They gave me the number for Fairclaim. com which is the online arbitration website. They use So far, Diego has been 100% unresponsive except to enter following comment in the website's description section, "CUSTOMER DID NOT LIKE WORK JUST CHARGED HER MATERIALS AND HALF A DAY OF WORK." Diego did not attend the online arbitration hearing and I was awarded $850.00 of the $1000.00 by one of the Fairclaim.com Arbitrators. Diego has until August 17 to pay me before further steps are taken as I have not yet shared my experience with my Facebook Friends! Also, Fairclaims.com sends a daily payment reminder to Diego to pay me. Thank you, Home Advisor and Fairclaim.com.

Diego was able to accommodate our last minute request to repair a section of wood laminate flooring. The cost of the repair was reasonable, he got the job done very quickly, and we'll definitely be using his services again in the future! Thank you, Diego!
