I felt there was a great deal of miscommunication with Jacob throughout the whole process as well as an entire lack of communication about midway through. There were several times that the work was put off until later. I also began to question his and his partner knowledge mid-project when I discovered the drywall they installed had was not back to any frame support in the corners or end walls of the attic space. This was the second time I wondered about their knowledge/abilities. My frustration with lack of communication/no show led me to end our contract prior to being able to discuss these issues with them. Three thousand dollars later I had very little to show for my money. When I sent a letter requesting a partial refund, I felt that Jacobs response insinuated that I had lied about certain aspects of the job. I am by no means perfect, but I pride myself on being honest. Jacob response also included an invoice with hourly rates of $75 per man hour (even though the going rate for knowledgeable and experienced contractors in the Boise area is around $20/hr) and pricing for more parts than I believed were actually purchased. Additionally, he did not address any of the legitimate issues I raised and denied that the initial agreement included drywalling all surfaces despite the fact that he purchased (and charged me for) enough drywall and compound to do so. His invoice also made it look as though I actually owed him more than the $3000 for the work completed (by $500) but that he was kind enough to write off the balance for me. In summary, I do not feel that he was experienced, knowledgeable, professional, or honest and I would not recommend hiring him.
