MS & AC Landscape Design

Everything seemed to start out great and the progress of work overall even seemed satisfactory; it wasn't until what should have been the end of the project that things fell apart. The reason I am dissatisfied is because of serious workmanship failures which the Contractor will not acknowledge or correct, despite having received about 97% of the contract funds (which I paid in good faith). Towards the end of the work and at the request for final payment last week, the Contractor was telling me everything was acceptable and trying to make me feel I was being unreasonable. Following are the MAJOR issues: 1) All grass was to be REMOVED--not just top-cut and covered with weed barrier and mulch (Bermuda grass was NOT killed; no poison was initially used so the grass roots were still active and massive grass began to surface through the weed ;barrier&and thin layer of mulch and at perimeters. (In addition to the grass not being properly removed, I'm not sure if the weed barrier and mulch were properly installed to manufacturer specs or industry standards. 2) SOME of the plants are surviving despite discovering that the controller and front yard valve are not working together (many plants have already died) and though the back valve appears to be working with the controller, there are at least two or three plants in the back yard that do NOT even have emitters, so they too are dying! 3) New corner post for new gate does not seem to be sufficient to support the weight of the gate--the post has been out of plumb since initial installation and I suspect it will only get worse with time. 4) Rear yard of decomposed granite was installed as a raised box--NOT as specified in contract. Contractor did NOT discuss prior to change, but merely explained&why it was done differently AFTER it was completed. This Contractor has BOTH building AND landscaping contracting licenses, so any of these issues alone would be unacceptable, but there are SO many issues! After having another tradesman visit my home this week to evaluate corrective work needing to be done and the costs involved, it was suggested that I contact the Contractor bond company due to the atrocity of the work. Consequently, I have filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board and now also with the Contractor's bonding company and am currently waiting to hear back from them.

They came and did what was asked adding more sod, paper for the gravel and dg and upgraded dividers. They had to come back 3 times with more bark. The final phase was too quick and getting his money was his main goal. It looks nice but not enough gravel was put down and it shows through to the paper in some areas and the dg was not rolled out enough. He offered nice suggestions and that I liked. I am still waiting for the final invoice he doesnâ  t seem to want to provide me with since the price went up from the estimate price we went off of. I am still waiting for them to come back and adjust the sprinklers that are running off the grass...over two weeks now. Overall ... a pretty good job.

They perform the work and a timely manner and they were efficient. Manuel, and his team were very open to any suggestion and creative ideal. They give us what we wanted at a affordable price. We could not be happier with the final results. I would recommend using MS & AC Landscape Design for any project you may have. They will really work with you on any landscaping project. I have had worked done over the years with many other contractor's and by far my experience was the best with MS & AC Landscape Design.

Best experience ever!! They are awesome! Very patient with me. I am not easy to work with -- after having a horrific experience with a contractor -- I get very anxious about new projects. So I ask lots of questions. He was super professional, and understanding. The quality of their work - gave me back some confidence that not all contractors are ........ (you fill in the blank)! Good guys, honest & if I need anything else ... I won't hesitate to hire them.

We converted our front yard into a desert hardscape.Manuel and his crew did a great job and went above my expectations. I had a vision and he brought it to life! They always showed up on time and kept the job site clean.

Can ONLY recommend the them! Manuel's crew started always right at 7AM... they landscaped my backyard, put a drainage in, a sprinkler and drip system, sod and concrete the side way to my house. His son custom made my new gate to the backyard Manuel is a great guy and his team was fast and cleaned up every day! He will paint the outside of my house before long!

I Highly rate this very professional company. Owner was on the site daily, workers were here daily. Job was done on time. Work site/area was cleaned up daily and left cleaner than when they came in. Open to changes and gave worthy recommendations of improvements.

project was a drought tol. back & side yard. Mr. Manuel Silva and his crew did an excellent job with our back yard conversion. He was very knowledgeable & helpful with suggestions to create a beautiful landscape for us. The project was front yard turf removal and replacement with drought tolerant and water-wise plants plus drip irrigation system approved by the city of Lake Elsinore. Mr. Manuel Silva which was highly recommended had the best proposal as well as the lowest bid was hired to do the job. Mr. Silva managed to finish this project on time and within the budget. His crew were all experienced professional individuals which is hard to find this days. I was extremely pleased with the end result. I had my front and back lawns removed and replaced with drought tolerate plants. Manuel Silva did an excellent design plan for me to submit to my HOA. He completed the work in a timely manner and suggested a way to save on the cost of pavers. He suggested a gardener to help me maintain the new landscaping, too. If I even need more landscaping or contracting work, I would definitely call him to do it. I'm so glad I found him on HomeAdvisor. Completed the project as promised with excellent result. My backyard that looked like the moonscape not looks like the garden of Eden. A sight to behold and cheery to a tired eyes after a long day of work. They delivered as promise. Deals were straight forward and to the point, no monkey business.

After many interviews, this company stood out as the best in professionalism, promptness, landscape design......the crew was excellent and showed up everyday on time and came in on budget and in the time-frame per our contract. Very, very satisfied..... highly recommend anyone using them.

Manuel has done an amazing job with our walk-ways, curbing and irrigation system. He is quite professional as well as knowledgable and I would be happy to continue doing business with him. The concrete on the two walkways have a few slight imperfections, though the weather is a factor here (rained the very next day).
