They took our downpayment of $3000 and never refunded it after promising to. They blocked my number and dont return phone calls. Their DBA company (Madewell Concrete) has a warning on the BBB website.

Stay far away from this company. Trust me they took my money and never did the job. They are not even properly licensed to do concrete work. They are not reputable, dishonest, and should not be allowed to do work.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of hiring Concrete Driveway Co. to install a driveway extension for my home, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the results. From the beginning, communication with the company was okay, but when we received the drawing in the quote, I immediately reached out to our project manger with concerns. The corners on the â Uâ shaped driveway were very sharp. Not even a standard car could make it around the corners with out pulling forward and backing up several times, much less our truck or SUV. I asked for the corners to be softened and I even sent pictures of our driveway with the corrections. I was immediately reassured that everything would be taken care of. The quality of the work was subpar, with very sharp corners and cracks that appeared immediately after completion. I immediately reached out to our project manager about our concerns. I reassured that everything would be taken care of. Well several phone calls, text messages and emails later, I was finally told today that I should just find someone else to fix the corners they messed up because â it would be cheaper for me,â after spending and exorbitant amount for the extension to begin with. Now we are stuck with a u-shaped driveway that we canâ t even utilize for its intended purpose. It's clear that they cut corners, and the finish was far from what I expected. I would strongly advise against using this company for any concrete driveway projects.

Do not hire this Company, they took the payment for the project and they have not showed up in order to do it.

They were very professional and prompt. I met with Michael on Friday and he stated that they would be at my residence on Monday morning at 8:AM and John and staff were there at 7:45 . I am very, very pleased with the job that they did. I highly recommend M&R concrete service. I would hire them again if I had any other jobs.

Very professional company. Project leader kept me informed about everything going on and checked on the work and the progress constantly. The crew was on time and worked quickly. They worked hard to do minimal damage to yard. I am exceedingly pleased with their work.

We are extremely dissatisfied. We could have resolved it in a different way, but no one called us back, and if they did, they kept promising a resolution for next week, and next week turned into two months, and they still did not do anything. 

Continued follow up completed on time.

They rushed the job, did the bare minimum site prep, and left a mess behind. Then, claimed they completed the job *to industry standard*. AVOID!

From the beginning they were very professional. They worked diligently to understand how I wanted to widen my existing driveway to accommodate my camper.

The initial pour did not do well in places and left some voids/popouts in the driveway. I called Madewell and they busted out the bad grids and repoured to honor their guarantee which is rare these days. The crew that came out to resolve the issue was efficient, professional, and exceeded my expectations on how the property was left after the work was completed. They went above and beyond to leave it as close to the way they arrived. Much appreciated to all involved.

They put the footer in wrong on a 1700 sq ft pour and the surface is so unlevel it is easy to see with the naked eye.

From start to finish, Gio, Brian and the crew were a total dream to work with. The pricing was so reasonable that we ended up scaling up the scope of the quote to take care of all of our "some day we should" ideas. The quote was dead on the money to what we paid as well, no additional charges incurred or anything like that. The team leveraged technology in the design, quote and contract process so that we were able to get near real-time turnaround on all concepts, signatures, etc. We really weren't expecting that, and it definitely set the operation apart from other vendors that we met with - adding a level of confidence that we wouldn't fall through the cracks. The work crew was friendly, early to show up for work (not just on time, EARLY), efficient and engaged. They even hit a pause for a second to let me know "hey, we found this in prep - if we tweak a little to do it this way it'll look a lot better". I can't say enough about this job, other than to say if I can come up with more ideas later, or if a friend asks me for recommendations - I can now say "hey, I've got a guy".

UPDATE: Madewell sent one of their customer service reps out to my property to document the patio and to report back to management regarding the state of the patio. He told me that the workmanship is not close to the quality they stand behind. I heard back from mgmt the next week and told me that they werent budging. They have now started the process for filing a mechanics lien against my home. I refuse to pay for shoddy workmanship. Please be warned about this company and also read the reviews on the Better Business Bureaus website as well as Yelp and Angis List. They may have great reviews, and they may do great work, but they will not stand behind the work when they have an off day and will not try to come to a reasonable agreement. Its either their way or the highway, and unfortunately the highway is them placing a lien on your home for payment due. AVOID AVOID AVOID. After collecting four quotes from various contractors to replace my 10x10 pad in my backyard with a 20x15 stamped and stained patio, I went with Madewell, even though they were the highest bid. I chose them as they had a great quantity of positive reviews and were the most professional onsite during the quoting process. They came out on Monday, 8/9/21, to pour my pad and it was completed around 3pm. A few days later, I went out to get a closer look at the job. I found countless areas along the edges of stamped bricks where spalling was already occurring. As I walked, even more portions of the stamped areas were crumbling away. There are additional hairline cracks on the edges that will start spalling after our first freeze. I took numerous pictures and sent to my onsite contact, and he told me that this was a normal part of the stamping process and that it will look better after sealing it. Knowing that this was not true, I started asking around on various concrete design forums online. Their responses have all been centered on that it was a shoddy job, and that it needs to be redone, because it will continue to spall more as it continues to cure. After pushing back with my contact, I was told that my only two options were to seal it (putting lipstick on a pig), or to have it reviewed under the warranty process. I was told that the warranty process is only valid once I am paid in full, which I am not. I refuse to pay in full (and not know how the warranty claim will go) for an extremely sub standard product. During the numerous back and forth conversations, I was never offered an opportunity for someone on the mgmt team to come take a look and inspect my patio to confirm/deny my complaints. They are hoping to take advantage of my ignorance on the subject and hope I will go away.

They did a good job on most of my driveway but left one part near the road not complete. I have talk to Jack and he says they will come and make the repairs but so far they have not done so.

Concrete starting cracking within one week. They left a mess all-around job tried to charge me more money than what was quoted never let these people on my property again!
