The driveway they installed was a disaster from the start. Dark splotches appeared everywhere and never faded, and the edges began crumbling from day one. They did not follow multiple parts of the contract: no angled joints at the bottom of the driveway, the sidewalk to the front door was poured in the same poor condition, and they ignored the requirement to run the downspout under the sidewalk. Their contract is written to protect them, not you?you can?t sue, only go through an expensive arbitration company. While they were doing the work, I repeatedly told the crew and texted the company about the problems, but they ignored me and stopped returned my calls. On top of all that, they even ruined the asphalt in front of my house, leaving a chunk of the street dug out and patched with concrete. Now the neighborhood has a big, permanent eyesore. Save yourself the money, stress, and frustration?go with a reputable company instead.

Midway through the job, I got a call from the project manager saying they needed 3.5 more yards of concrete and that the ?change order? would cost me $1400 extra. I understand needing more material to finish the job properly, and I?m fine paying for that. But a yard of concrete shouldn?t cost more than $200, so $700 more in materials, max. Where?s the other $700 going? What I wasn?t told upfront is that their change orders come with other fees that get passed on to the homeowner. That surprise charge ended up being a 15% increase in the total cost of the job. That?s just not reasonable. After reading a lot of reviews about the company I?ve come to understand that they?re likely intentionally under ordering concrete by monkeying with the math and then charging extra when they come up short on concrete. Great business practice. Avoid them if you can.

Absolutely awful communication. After concrete work was completed, through my backyard passing the garden fence, the subcontractors communicated they would not put the fence door back on the fence. After trying to reach out to the sales/project manager/management crew for a couple of weeks, I had to contract this work to another party. Absolutely terrible communication. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

They donâ  t stand behind their work !!! They did a terrible job. They advertise that they have a 10 year warranty however nothing is covered. The customer service is horrible. They donâ  t call you back. Donâ  t use this company. They are a rip off.

We had a driveway installed on 10/6/2023 I paid 40,000 to get it done and on 1/4/24 We received a certified letter from Ernst concrete threatening lien on our home, we paid our bill in full they did not pay their bill. I am now looking into an attorney, and They are shady they have no way to contact and has had a claim in with the same exact situation, they are thieves and will screw you over. I need a way to help contact someone to get this resolved or all involved is getting sued..

I have no problem with the job itself. The work was quick and the final project was exactly what I wanted. My beef with the company is that they entice you to sign the contract by offering a discount, about $450. 1350 sq ft of driveway, 17 yards of concrete. I specifically showed the salesperson some existing concrete that was less than 4 inches thick and stated I wanted to make sure that the new section was 4 inches. He said it would be 4-5 inches. Great, once the job was done they added on $600 as they said that it required 17 yards of concrete. Well duh, that is exactly what they would need to provide me with 1350 sq ft at 4 inches thick. So did he quote low to get the job and entice me with a quick sign bonus or do they just add on to cover the signing bonus? Needless to say, I won't use them again. Just be careful if you use the company as I think that it shows a lack of integrity to do this to a customer.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! It is actually sickening what Regional Rep Chris Levine expects you to accept. They essentially hire third party contractors to install your driveway, and if they botch it they will tell you itâ s not their fault. They will try and sell you on theyâ re not responsible for aesthetics, and you will be stuck with the job that is not even close to professional. 15 grand to be exact. Would love to have anyone come by the house to show them what this company is capable of, and how they do whatever they can to slither away from doing a quality job. This ainâ t bitterness, this is the truth. Will share all communications with them on every review board that we can to stop others from getting conned by them. DO NOT HIRE!!!!

This company is a scam, STAY AWAY !! Derrick Carson, James Tucker and the owner Kevin will all have their names on the lawsuit. I wish I read the reviews prior to putting my project in their hands and my money in their pockets.

I am a professional and know what should be expected. This company does NOT communicate or coordinate work at ALL. My NEW Driveway has a large crack that developed just 3 days after pouring. I paid for fiber mesh to be added in the cement and the first trucks showed up without it and all other trucks were NOT scheduled for it. The on-site inspector was a kid who wasn't there half the time. This was a 426ft driveway 15ft wide and I don't trust it at all for 43000 dollars. Go somewhere else I assure you this isn't the place. They deducted 4000 dollars but that's not even enough to replace the 2 areas that have cracks in them. They sell you 1 job then try to skimp by with what they deliver. The home advisor app says if the project doesn't turn out right they will make it right.....yeah ok.

Driveway replaced in April; very poor job with major defects. Continues to promise fix and repairs and never followed through. Would not recommend for any work.

Stay away from this company. They talk a great game upfront, but project management and communication is absolutely horrible. I am 40 days into my project and cannot even get resolution to the many issues I have, nor can I get the project completed. They even made me fill out a warranty claim less than two weeks after the pour. Don't waste your time or energy with this company.

The job manager did not communicate with the workers who performed the job and the concrete is not level as I was specific about what my intentions were I filed a claim and called and have not gotten a response and my other project has been rescheduled and an out of pocket cost to me for returning of materials I keep reaching out and no one will contact me on correcting my not level slab that I paid for just took my money and ran

They were always responsive and worked with me to stay within budget. Gave me EXACTLY what I wanted!

The salesman was wonderful, but the project manager tried to tell us they only had 18 yards of concrete when we had been charged for 20 and we would have to pay for more. Then he tried to tell us they weren't supposed to do the access point to the driveway when it was on the estimate also. Luckily we had the printout of the quote to show him what we had paid for. Like the fact that there is a 10 year warranty

No complaints with my salesman,but the rest of the experience was the worst I?ve been through. The project manager outright lied to me, and when I called him on it he referred me to his supervisor. I felt the supervisor was condescending in the way he talked to me. The shape of my new driveway not exactly what I wanted or what the drawing looked like. The clean up included leaving concrete pieces, nails, and a form board in the yard. They cut off my gate to fit over the driveway, it literally looks like they cut it with there eyes closed. My gate pins to hold the gate in place are crooked and barely latch (are set in the concrete). After I left a bad review they tried to contact me but I was dealing with a family emergency. When I was able, I contacted them and the project manager said he would call me back the next day. That was 2 weeks ago and still nothing. If you want horrible customer service and a mediocre job at best then hire Madewell Concrete. If you want a good job and good customer service then do yourself a favor. HIRE SOMEONE ELSE.

We contracted with Madewell Concrete in Nov 2021 to demo our existing driveway and install a new one, including the walkway to the house. On our final walkthrough, Madewell PM and I agreed that the driveway edges were incorrect, and the project manager was to reschedule a visit to fix them soon after they dried but that never happened. Unfortunately for me, I paid them in full on that day. The biggest issue of all is the driveway discoloration and the hairline cracks it is now showing. The entire driveway is discolored, looks like never dried and due to this, it is starting to crack already on the surface. The edges near the control joints are uneven. There is chipping around the control joints, and I have PICs to prove all this. The project manager was around for less than 10 % of the time on both days and the project was poorly managed. I have been in touch with Madewell since Mid-December trying to resolve this. I have emails from some team members acknowledging some of the issues and providing less than acceptable resolutions while other team members have simply denied saying that the discoloration is not covered under warranty when my claim is the job was not performed correctly, to begin with. This is very troubling because I do not trust the company or their 10-year warranty anymore which was precisely the reason I chose to pay 30% more for the same job. Finally, the subcontractors were messy and inexperienced. They damaged my Cable and Internet lines, irrigation lines (which they fixed but its leaking, have pics to prove), and the concrete supplier scratched and dented the street outside my driveway trying to drive the concrete trucks on my driveway to pour concrete. I have Pics and email chains with different team members from Madewell. I have contacted BBB and am hoping to find a resolution to my issues.

Good overall experience.

Very accommodating and professional work. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money. I'd hire them again, but hopefully my new driveway will last another 60 years. :-)

Very professional company. The project manager Terrance Washington was exceptional in his knowledge, keeping us informed of during and after the job.

Our driveway is gorgeous! It exceeded our expectations. The Madewell Concrete crew did a top-notch, professional job from start to finish. Amazingly our driveway was completely replaced in two days! Gage, our Sales Manager, came to our house to discuss options we were considering. He was very knowledgeable and helpful as we reached a decision. He measured our driveway and sent us a quote. Once we accepted the quote, we were put on the schedule. Reid, our Project Manager, and his crew were fantastic! Reidâ s experience was valuable. He was always willing to answer questions and explain the process to us. The crew worked non-stop throughout the time they were here. On the day work was scheduled to start, rain was in the forecast. We were notified that the job would need to be postponed. We appreciated that it would not be done in less-than-ideal conditions. We were rescheduled for the following week and had great weather. The first day was demolition. A Bobcat with jackhammer attachment was used to break up the concrete into big chunks. The chunks were then deposited into one of several heavy-duty dumpsters and hauled away to be recycled. Large roots that had caused the concrete to break up were removed. The ground was graded, and forms were set in place to be ready for the new concrete. The second day was installation. The crew and the first of several concrete trucks arrived early. As the concrete was poured some of the crew worked on spreading it out. Others followed behind to smooth and brush it to give it a non-slip surface. Control joints, basically grooves, were added to help control any future cracking in the concrete. The process was fascinating to watch. We are extremely pleased with our new driveway, and it was a pleasure having the entire crew here. We highly recommend them.
