Mark Dennison Contracting

I had tenants move out of my rural rental house after 3 years. This coincided with my dog tearing her ACL, and having an ear infection and UTI. I was 200 miles away from the house when I found out a wall was collapsing. My dog was my priority however, so I'd have to handle this debacle long distance. The 1st contractor I contacted had a nice conversation with me, and then never returned my call. The 2nd set up a zoom call, which annoyed me, then asked for 35,000 dollars. When I said that was absurd, he angrily said my place would be condemned,. Mark was the 3rd man I spoke to. He went right to my place and with welcome humor acknowledged, yes, my wall was collapsing. He could tell I was overwhelmed and said he'd come up with 3 estimates, from which I could choose depending on my finances. But first, he said, we had to get the place winterized. Mark walked me step by step through the process. The tenants left the fuel tank empty. He said I needed to get fuel. The basement had a padlock on it, Mark went out there late at night and cut off the padlock so they could fill my tank the next morning. He said, you can't have heat without power, you need to turn your power back on. Then he said, if you want me to winterize your pipes, you need to turn your water off. He did this one text at a time so it made sense. Finally, last night, the night before Thanksgiving, when I knew he'd had a big project he needed to finish by the holiday, he texted me at 10:10 pm and wrote "your place is winterized". You can't imagine how grateful I was. I still have a collapsing wall about which I have to make a decision, and my dog still needs surgery, but that one simple text touched me so much I'm taking the time to write this Thanksgiving morning. Contractors have a bad reputation, and having worked for NYC Consumer Affairs in the complaint department, I can see why. Mark Dennison, however, is one of the kindest people I've encountered, let alone someone I'd hire as a contractor. I don't know what I'm going to end up doing, but Mark told me the basics of what I'd need to do to make the place livable, but not pretty, so that's a place to start. But wow, you won't go wrong here. Good luck to you.

Hired for snow and ice removal from ore roof. Came that very night and the job was completed, quickly, efficiently and professionally... Even changed our floodlights bulb that had blown! Would certainly recommend and hire Mark again!

Did not work out for me, hired for the whole winter, they showed up one time. The second storm (about 7 inches of snow), they did not plow and no response to voice mail asking if they intend to plow at all. Such is life, looking for someone else as I am writing this, I had shoulder surgery and can not do it myself.
