Pads need to be changed on a regular basis (varies for each unit) and cleaned on a Bi-Yearly basis. An Air Conditioner needs to cleaned and recharged or a regular basis to maintain optimum cooling ability and operating performance. A furnace needs to be cleaned on a regular basis and to have the pads changed frequently to maintain proper functioning of the unit.
