Maryland Audio Video, LLC

Technician seemed to be having personal issues. Did not complete installation and programming. Took much longer than he originally stated and still not working properly. Did not leave documentation for equipment. I got tired of excuses and told him not to return.

If I could give any advice for someone looking to use Maryland Audio Video, LLC and the owner Rob the only thing I can tell you is DO NOT HIRE HIM. He is COMPLETELY unreliable, slow, unresponsive, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and his work is incomplete, non-functioning, and most importantly Dangerous! The project we hired him for was to hang and wire televisions throughout the house, hiding the wiring, and install recessed lights in the ceiling of the family room & office. Rob gave me a quote for a price, and time at 2 days of installation work. What we ended up enduring was 4 weeks of installation time, a job that is not anywhere near complete or safe, and some of the worst communication ever. Rob will tell you he is coming at 8:00am and will not show up until 3:00pm. Then he obviously runs out of time to complete his work, and promises to come back the next day at 8:00am only to show up again at 3:00pm, that is if he shows up at all! Rob suggested we opt for a more expensive remote control that requires professional set up which Rob offers, HOWEVER the remote was never programmed correctly. Obviously this is an issue since we now have a remote control that does not work, and we can not change any of the settings since we are not a licensed professional with access to the program to set up the remote. We asked Rob to install some recessed lights in the ceiling, which he claimed he is licensed to do, since he can do low voltage electricity, I WISH we had NOT done that! Two of the lights have fallen out of the ceiling, and he has ignored all of our phone calls, emails (his email address no longer works), and text messages. I have since had to hire a real electrician to repair the damaged lights. This electrician informed me my lights had been wired incorrectly, there was no support for any of the lights, and they can fall out of the ceiling at a moments notice. In addition to this the way the wiring was completed is currently a very serious fire hazard. So where are we now? It has been 5 MONTHS, and we still have lights falling out of the ceiling, we have a remote control that does not work and can not be fixed unless done by a professional, and a A/V company in Maryland Audio Video that is totally off the grid. I have called Rob over 30 times, emailed and texted and I have not heard from him in months. The last time he texted me one sentence saying "is tomorrow good for you" which must have been a joke since when I responded that it was, he never showed up and I have not been able to get a hold of him since. His phone is not working, his email address does not work, and when I checked the Maryland Department of Assessments & Taxation it shows that his company has been Forfeited. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY

Rob is far too unreliable to trust with your audio visual needs. The quality of the work he performed was satisfactory. I'm happy with the picture and the sound in the theater room he worked on for me, but hassle of actually working with him prevents me from recommending him to anyone. Rob would go days and even weeks without responding to phone calls, text messages or e-mails. Often times his phone did not accept phone messages. The message did not even acknowledge that it was his number. It was a generic recording saying that the number was not accepting messages. This no way to run a business. There were at least two occasions when Rob set a time that he would come by to work and never showed, nor did he let me know he wouldn't be coming. I also have questions about the value of what he provided me. Rob installed a projector that did not fill the screen we agreed on. He admitted his error and to his credit, allowed me to keep the original projector until he was able to obtain a new one. He installed the new projector and told me it was of greater quality than the original one. However, when I looked it up, I found it advertised on multiple websites listed at about half the cost of the original projector that we agreed upon. I called his attention to this and asked if I could see his receipt for the new projector he installed. He said he would provide it and also give me some options for new projectors at the same price as the original projector. That was about a month ago, and despite many phone calls, e-mails and texts, Rob has not responded to me. Rob is a nice guy and does good work, but as previously stated, he is far too unreliable to work on your audio video needs.

Rob is a magician. Another installer said holes would have to be made in our basement walls to conceal the wiring. Rob managed to do it for 7 speakers and a projector without so much as a nick. Hard-working, passionate, meticulous and courteous are all words that come to mind when describing Maryland AV. They even stuck to their extimate, even though Rob added additional materials to solve problems my equipment created. Superstars.

Rob the owner is a great guy - felt comfortable leaving him in my house unsupervised. My experience was the difficulty in reaching him during the installation. There were problems completing the job in the agreed time frame - which was fine, but lack of communication left me frustrated. Would recommend him - the job was nice, but suggest he communicates how best to reach him whether by office number or cell.

Maryland AV is professional and they know what they are doing. They also recommended reasonably priced equipment but good quality at the same time.

Professional, knowledgable and the cost was reasonable. Would definately recommend this company.

Excellent service! I needed a couple of HDMI cables hung from a TV that was already on the wall. Not only did they hang the cables but they hid all the cables. I couldn't be happier!

They were on time and very professional. They even took their shoes off which made my wife very happy.

Rob is amazing!

We hired Maryland A/V to do access control and surveillance throughout and apartment building. They were extremely thorough and patient to understand the specific needs of the project. They researched several custom products in advance to ensure that the system was inter-operable and suited our needs. I can say that these guys are definitely professional from start to finish. They won't leave until everything is complete.

Clean and thorough. Enjoy the look of my home theater system and the speed and efficiency of the install.
