Commercial Small Project Painting or Staining Service
We signed a contract and paid over 50 percent deposit on April 5, 3025. Kurt Gregory, the business owner, was completely unreliable. He didn't begin work until June and would disappear for days. He had every excuse imaginable for the delays. When we pushed for a completion date and he hadn't even completed 20 percent on that date - he quit. Without even notifying us, he snuck on our property and took the paint purchased with our funds. These photos show the house after 4 months of his 'work'. Stay clear of him.

I hired Kurt because he ASSURED me he could fix a bad attempt at Sun Valley texture by some low quality tradesmen. The contract was to skim all walls to cover orange peel texture, (1295 sq ft approx), then apply what most call Sun Valley or Santa Fe texture, sand, prime and paint. He made the dates and gave himself only 12 days to complete it telling me how fast he can work. Said he would work weekends. Even with my asking he never completely covered my floors. I finally did it with my own paper and tape. His helper had no experience painting and Kurt let him do the primer. He put it over areas not sanded yet with runs in it. I had another contractor come in who does not know why her moisture meter is reading high on walls a week after his work in that room. Another pro thinks he went back over primed walls with hot mud not meant for that purpose. Kurt told me it is normal to prime to reveal his mistakes, then fix them with more mud then prime again. That is not industry standards and a waste of mud and primer. I paid him $1720.00 (30%) of the job up front which more than covered materials. I had 5 gallons of primer, paper and tape for floors, plastic to cover things, sheet rock and tape for all patches. Five days later he wanted another $1000.00. I gave it to him reluctantly with a letter asking him to please work the weekend and some 8 hour days. In 12 weekdays he had worked less than 60 hours. He came back on Saturday very angry and did not speak to me. Working in my master bed and bath he did inferior patches and the mud application was extremely poor. He tore the plastic off the covered kitchen, cleaned his tools and left mud on the chrome and black sink. I had asked him to use the hose outside because he could not follow my direction of cleaning the sink area up after he used the kitchen. I took a good look at all applications after he left Sat. There were un-sanded areas primed already and many places where he mudded the tape over the baseboards into the walls. He had taken all the paint away so I knew he was not planning to finish the job so I stopped payment on the check. In looking for someone to finish the work: one contractor would not touch it, one says they cannot warranty their work over his, another suggests it would be less money to remove all the sheetrock, baseboards, and case and rehang it! They think it would be less time to do that then to fix what he has done. I met him Monday on the job site with witnesses to let him go. He went around my home swearing at me, taking pictures, and saying he was going to sue me. I completely moved out for Kurt to work long hours and do it right as he knew my concerns from the first guys. But just like them, he tried to texture over one layer of skim on the orange peel in my master with orange peel shining through. I asked him for his insurance information and he said no. He put a lien on my home saying I owe him money. I finally found someone to fix his mess and the cost is $7500.00. I am devastated and have not lived in my home for a month. Perhaps he is a good painter, but his texturing is poor.
Response from Master's Touch Painting
"We went to court with this person and won a portion of our losses back. She is clueless and only wants work for done for free. she had us work 83 hours and 75% complete and fired us when we requested a draw She has been nothing but a nightmare, trying to micro manage, she will not quit bothering you while working , has screaming bouts, etc. If Diane C. contacts you for work, RUN!!"

I would recommend Kurt 100% because he understands what it takes to give his customers the best quality workmanship at a reasonable - honest - price. He is knowledgeable, professional and talented, yet fair in his pricing. He is a rare find because he doesnâ t follow the current trend of â letâ s overcharge and blame the pandemic/supply chain because we canâ . Kurt is the REAL DEAL!!! ð
