Matrix has a great business model that works - for them and their customers. They only do basements, which is apparent because they do a tremendous job from start to finish. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for! I didn't want cheap. I wanted a great value for my investment. Their wall system is exactly what I was looking for - a moisture resistant design with great insulating properties. Daniel, the PM, and all the craftsmen were very skilled, timely, and considerate. They use an app to communicate the design documents, schedule, finances, and other important project related information. Make sure to get all your needs and desires onto the design drawings, since that is part of the contract you have with Matrix, which is great to minimize surprises and ensure expectations are met. They finished one day ahead of schedule and fully met/exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Over the past several months we’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most professional team members in the basement business - Matrix. My family and I went on the journey of remodeling our basement and after our initial sit down with Nick and Pete we were on board. They presented a solid layout and design, we can’t be happier with the end results. During this process the real joy was getting know and meet absolutely family oriented team members from Angels team carpenters, to Bobby the electrician, to Brian’s team pluming, to Alex the painter, the flooring team, HVAC team and rounding out with Ben keeping everything in motion, we appreciate you all and truly appreciate everyone behind the scenes. The delivery and pickup crew were also a joy to be around, they were even singing song while working as a team. A special thank you to Ms. Jackie and the administration team. None of the work completed could have been done without absolute teamwork. Thank you, job well done!

This was not the experience we had ever imagined we would have with Matrix we could have worked with other companies and spent far less money but we thought we were getting a premium product and at a premium price! We had contracted Matrix in February to finish our basement, our salesman did a very good job taking the time to lay everything out give us our options and meet our vision the follow-up appointment to finalize went well and the gentleman really had a good knowledge of everything that needed to be done. The biggest problem we had was with the project manager and some of the trades that were brought in. The framers and finish carpenters did a wonderful job however the failures were many and project management was substandard for spending over six figures on a project.
The damage that was caused to the finished portion of our house, walls, door jams garage door frame and other building errors that were made on electrical and plumbing were not addressed or handled appropriately

I would say this is more like 4.5 but better than a 4. We had some initial hiccups and a bunch of miscommunication and dropped balls with our initial Field Manager. I think he was simply overstretched and not able to dedicate the time to the size of our project. Matrix made it right though and got us a new Field Manager named Jim and things went all as smoothly as I could have hoped afterwards. There were still some issues but they were more just part of the process and making sure everything was done right by the end of the project. Jim was amazing and he was on top of things from the moment he took over and, most importantly, he always took ownership and made sure the job got done and that it got done right. Once Jim took over, I felt confident that everything was going to turn out right and the way we had hoped. Most of the contractors were also very friendly, helpful, and had attention to detail overall.

Getting in touch with Victor, the project manager, was fairly easy via text message. There were a couple times that some of the subs messed up and Victor stepped right in to help us out. Even after hours. I would highly recommend using Matrix.

From beginning to finished product, it was a great experience. Having the schedule accessible 24/7 was a bonus. There was no surprises. This also made communication easy. Yes, I cannot lie it was pricey however everything was done impeccably and I had the assurance that it was all done correctly....I am so pleased Sept thru January ( A big help was 0% financing on $100,000 for 5 yrs....) I have sent family and friends pics during this process and I do have a friend who is most interested in having her work done by Matrix for her basement also...Not to mention that we are considering getting a bid from Matrix for a year round cottage build on Gravel Lake in Lawton, MI....Everything is 98% finished and we know that our project manager will attend to getting the last few details finished...After we get the final painting done and get all furnished we will have several open house showings to share our beautiful new space that makes my duplex perfect and useful in my nearly 1,600 sq ft basement that now has a wonderful bedroom, full bath, snack bar, large family room with game/ reading nook and louvered doors to large storage room that is all completely finished...Best workers ever!!!
