Matt Malatestinic Remodeling

I put a deposit on a composite deck project and Matt's wife charged me the wrong amount. this occurred in December of 2020. To this day, I still did not receive $1,560 that he owes me. They worked on a roof of mine too, and it was done completely wrong. The drains and seams of the flat roof leaked. Do not use this contractor!!!!!

Very professional and very affordable. Would definitely use them again.

I have had a similar to the worse experience with this person. He did not complete the work I paid him for and completed work incorrectly that I had to pay other contractors to redo. I have a court judgment against him but he still has not attempted to pay one penny even with an incentive to reduce the amount he owes by making scheduled payments. Do not hire this person!!!!

Matt has done various projects around my house everything from roof and concrete work to replacing it outlet.

They did a fantastic job remodeling our bathroom. I would recommend them anytime.

We hired this company last summer to put on a composite deck and replace the front porch beams. We had high hopes but were beyond disappointed. Matt stated that he and his company go the extra mile to do the job right...this could not be further from the truth. We should have known to back out when the proposed contract was riddled with typos but we didnt, we proceeded. This was in April 2019. We ordered the composite decking which took weeks longer to come in than what was originally told to us. Thank god my wife was home because what was ordered was not the color we had picked and no one noticed but my wife. It was now July. We then had to wait several more weeks with barely any communication from Matt throughout it all despite repeated attempts to reach out. Once the decking came in the first few boards were laid. It was completely atrocious and we asked for them all to be removed. They were crooked, they were never pre-drilled as composite should be, and the spacing and lines were juvenile to say the least. The deck floor was laid and it turned out pretty nice. The placement and measurements of the railing and beams were a totally different story. The back beams are all crooked and were not measured properly so every railing is not straight not level. All are bowed. Many are shimmed. Many are missing screws. And the caulked joints are all exposed after not even a year. The front porch has now become the biggest concern. Again, through what can only be mis-measurements and a lack of oversight and attention to detail, the beams holding up the front porch are now shifting. Two beams are no longer supporting the porch, one corner beam has shifted and is able to be moved and the whole rail structure is pulling away from the house. All railings are crooked as well. Believe me these are just a few of the issues weve had. There are many more including asking me for more money to keep his guys going and because other jobs have refused to pay. This was a red flag. I withheld the last payment in fear that the company would stop showing up. Since the contract was signed in April and the job was not completed until the last week of August Matt said he would build a bench to cover up a blemish in the deck (through no fault of his own) at cost for materials. Matt told us the supplies were ordered and he would let us know. He stopped responding to all inquiries. We reached out just recently (2020) to see if he could at least look at and/or stand by the shoddy work that was done on the front porch. We didnt expect an answer from he or his company and we haven't received one. This is what prompted our review. A BBB complaint was filed in 2017 from another client. This wasnt too far off from what we experienced with Matt and his company. While we hope the company has success and wish no ill-will, the job that was done at our home was undoubtedly well below standard and therefore we can wholeheartedly say without a doubt....stay away from this company. Stay far away if you value your time and your money.

Matt did not meet the timelines in the contract. I have to pay another contractor to finish the project and still waiting for my money to be returned from an unfished project. He is not returning my emails or texts. Very frustrating and now has to go to court to get my own money back.
