Matthews Construction

We hired Gavin Matthews to do a complete renovation on our house. He put a "new roof" on which leaked and needed replaced within 8months, the entire roof was at risk of caving in because he didn't put any supports. He rerouted our furnace so that the house would fill with poisonous gases. Everything he did failed. Absolutely everything. We paid him $34,800. He refused to give us a dime back. We had to hire other contractors to come in, everything Gavin touched had to be tore down and redone. What he told me was a "6month job", is now still in construction for the last 2years. Absolutely do not recommend whatsoever. He told me he was voted "best contractor in McKean and Potter County" in a magazine and that he goes into Shinglehouse School once a year to be a speaker, because he's so successful at his business. All of this was a lie. He lies very confidently, but does not swear because he doesn't want to seem unprofessional. He's a terrible human being and he has robbed us and my kids of their home. He deserves everything bad that comes his way. If you hire him, be prepared to kiss that money goodbye and hire many others to fix his work.
