Matthews Hardwood Floors

Worked with Matthews Hardwood Floors via our Ironcreek contractor, but I had the luck/timing to meet the owner as he delivered the oak boards for the new floors to install that week. In our kitchen remodel the old vinyl floor layers and original hardwood were removed given the state they were in, all this was done in advance. We were out of town the week the floors went in. When we came back it was amazing how well trimmed the edges were and that it matched the existing floors in the rest of the house perfectly. They also put in much more elegant step edges on the two stairs. A huge complement to the kitchen overall to blend with the rest of the house and warms the look. No squeaks either! Mathews Hardwood floors does absolutely STUNNING work. Our hardwood floor was yellowed, scratched, stained after 22 years of use. After Mathews floors was done our floor looked BRAND NEW !! I am NOT exagerating our floor looked like it was replaced with new wood. Great job guys !!

Pratt Matthews and his crew refinished and then stained our 28 year old white oak floors. In addition they replaced the carpeting with hardwood floor in the family room. I would give them zero stars! We contacted Mathews Hardwood Floors for service in September. We wanted to rip up our carpets and have the hardwood floor underneath refinished. We quoted 4 days and 1 day to completely dry. We removed the carpet ourselves to save on money. We moved all of our furniture out to our patio and garage. It took the company 5 days to complete our floors. When we went to look at the floors afterwards we saw a huge circle in the floor and many spots where paint was sealed into the floor. There were holes all over the floor that were never filled in. They said they could possibly fix it but we would have to be out of your house for another 3 days to possibly fix it. It was right before Halloween and we had plans to be back home. We were displaced from our house with two dogs, two cat and three kids. The owner was uninterested in speaking to us about it. They came back and fixed a couple of the holes and the circle in the floor we were also promised a free floor cleaner that we never received. We paid full price for this job. At this point we now have two spots in one of the bedrooms that have gouges and still numerous holes in the floor along with many scratches. I would 1000% not recommend this company! Do not waste your time or money! They will scam you!

Loved this company and employees. Very professional, kind, helpful and quality work . They went above and beyond in their cooperation with other vendors working in our home at times. Our main worker always had a smile and remained pleasant with some difficult situations. Owner was in our home every few days and maintained an excellent standard to the finish of the project.

We love our new refinished hardwood floors with the matte finish. It is so easy to keep clean. We had some serious dings and deep scratches and our floor look perfect now! Great people to work with!

This is the second room this company did for me and, like the first time, they were amazing.

The wood flooring installer and his son did a good job, but now the carpet installer has to come and trim and secure the carpet where it joins the new floor. Tomorrow will be two days with the carpet rolled back into the living room waiting for the new installation! And in two days, we have the 24th and 25th family events that we may have to put off. In the meantime, I am becoming rather impatient!

We had a wonderful experience with Pratt and Carlos (who is a master craftsman). He blended new wood pieces with existing flooring in the kitchen and refinished the front room/dining room area. The floors came out beautifully and my family is thrilled. I highly recommend Pratt and his team.

I would work with these guys again. The project went well and we are happy with the results. I was delaying my review a bit to see if the ceramic coat we paid for was holding up against our dog, and our chairs and stools being dragged about on it. It looks good two weeks out.

Not only are Pratt and Cesar the best floor finishers, but they're great people! It's getting hard to find honest, ethical contractors. I think this business is perfect for Idaho and I highly recommend using them!
