The work was performed November 25th & 26th, 2022 by Mattra, Inc. of Poland. The work scope was attic insulation. All existing settled and moisture laden cellulose (original construction circa 1972) insulation was removed via vacuum system. Mattra then removed the plastic vapor barrier in the attic which was causing moisture buildup on 2nd floor ceilings & walls, followed by sealing all air gaps in all interior and exterior wall caps. Mattra installed bathroom/shower vent piping through the roof to meet code. Lastly, Mattra installed approx. 18"-22" of new blown-in cellulose insulation into attic, bringing R value from an originating low digit value up to R-60. The difference was immediate! Our second floor is no longer drafty, damp and cold. It is now the warmest level of our home and our furnace usage has dropped by 50%-75%! Could not be happier and wish we had done this sooner!
