Hired for final grade with machinery and clean sand, contractor dumped dirty fill?tree stumps, boulders, railroad ties and metal?on our newly excavated land. When confronted, he said, ?You won?t even know it?s there once I bury it.? We demanded it addressed, but he cont. while we manually removed debris ourselves. After his dump truck broke on Day 1, we readdressed our concerns Day 2?he walked off the job, left the debris, and later invoiced us $7,046 of an $11K job he never finished. We later confirmed with the sand and gravel pit owner that the contractor knowingly ordered cheap dirty fill. The owner even offered the contractor to waive product costs if we weren?t being charged?(which he agreed) yet the contractor invoiced us two hours later. Completely dishonest, unprofessional, and misleading. Avoid at all costs.
