Very good to work with

Greg addressed all the questions regarding selection and installation and was easy to visit with about different options. As of January 16, a four man crew came out to install the 16w generator which went really smooth. The crew as so cordial and helpful it made the installation seamless and professional. Andrew, the lead electrician, was just a first class professional. Between Greg and Andrew and the crew, I couldn't have asked for better...very pleased with how everything was completed! I would recommend McEwen Electric to anyone!

Greg was really good to work with, answered all questions and gave advice. The 3-man crew came on 7/24 to install the 16kw generator. They were all polite and presented themselves professionally. They worked non-stop for 8 hours and did a fabulous job on the install and start up commissioning. Thank you.

We had a whole house generator installed. TJ knows his stuff. His crew did a great job. Very pleased with results.

T.J. and his crew are the best. They installed a whole house generator in December and are we glad for it as the storm in March caused the DTE power to be out for over 8 days! The job was complicated because we have 3 electric meters, two of which are interruptable and we wanted to maintain that. This required 3 separate automatic relay switches. The installation looks great and everything worked perfectly. We highly recommend these guys. We recently hired them to wire a under counter kick space heater and are just as happy with that work as well. Next time we need electrical work T.J. and Co. will do it.

T.J. was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Said we didn't actually need to change out the panel, but we decided to anyway. He upgraded and added grounds in several spots so we would be in compliance (no charge) and rewired our generator plug so it was up to code. Our power went out an hour after they left and the generator ran beautifully (for the first time since we got it!) Everything was done as quoted plus extras and he and his crew were polite and friendly. Highly recommend!

He is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and charged a very reasonable amount. Couldn't ask for more and I'll be sure to call this company again in the future. These guys are awesome. We always get three different quotes for our large projects but didn't with this company. We were that comfortable after meeting TJ. He was honest and upfront about everything and his price was right where we wanted it. We were so comfortable having Tj and his crew here...it was like being around family. Great people! Hard workers! I would definitely hire them again and will!! I highly-highly reccomend them!

TJ was fantastic. I had real trouble even getting anyone else to come and give me a quote for the work that we needed done, but not with him. He answered my first call, we set up a time for a quote, talked about the project, and eventually set up a time for him to do the job all in a reasonable timeframe. In regard to the actual project, he went to a lot of effort to suggest things that we may not have thought of. He also explained why some of our ideas weren't necessary or could be done more cheaply/easily if we did something slightly different. I would recommend him to anyone who needed work in our area.

The owner was very good about communicating his plans by phone. Like which day he or a subcontractor will be there and what will get done that day. If weather changed his plans, he would let me know early

I would give them 6 stars if that was possible. Best customer relations, great work to a fair price. TJ listened to all my questions and concerns and gave me exactly what I wanted like a large 150A, 54 place panel with plenty of expansion, and generator interlock. He was punctual, easy to work with and I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is planing electrical work.

TJ was experienced and intelligent. He has strong communication skills and he was very good explaining all my questions.

TJ McEwen isn't just interested in selling you something. He listens to your needs before he recommends a solution. And he does his homework. I wanted to know why Siemens branded some of its generators if Generac makes them. He found out that Siemens does so in part because it puts a beefier engine in its branded generators than are in the Generac versions. I went with Siemens as a result. McEwen was also the only one to bid on this job who provided a cogent reason why I needed a separate surge suppressor for the generator as a way of protecting it from a power spike of the sort that fried the electronics on the one I needed him to replace. And because I have a solar power installation, McEwen got in touch with the company that installed it (Michigan Solar Solutions) to ensure that the generator integrated seamlessly with it so that power wouldn't accidentally flow back onto the grid in the event of a power failure. Incidentally, his crew is as professional as he is. I found their attention to detail on the job impressive.

TJ and his crew are outstanding to work with! I would recommend them to anyone looking for electrical work. They were always punctual and did a great job at a reasonable price. They wired up my new kitchen with appropriate electrical boxes, canned lights and switches. They also fixed some previous wiring issues that were found in our 100+ year old home. Great bunch of guys!!
