Hello, my name is Tim McGinnis. I am the owner, operator, and founder of McGinnis Builders, Inc. We provide new construction, remodeling and roofing services throughout Central Florida. I started this construction company with a commitment to excellence in workmanship and customer service. Our 30 years of experience has allowed us to complete thousands of home renovation and commercial construction projects that exceeded our client's expectations. We at McGinnis Builders, Inc. feel that our company is unique and is one of the best in Central Florida. Our employees are personally selected by me. Our office and sales personnel are family and in-house employees, which assure you our tradition of excellence. Additionally, all of our field personnel are tradesmen that have worked with McGinnis Builders, Inc. for many years and have the proper training and certification.

Rating 0-10 - they are 10plusâ ¦ after meeting with 7 other local roofers I put a spread sheet together. To compare; Best Value, heavy on details of all areas of construction, timelines, and attention to details, making things right no matterâ ¦ the cost was the least of all I reviewed, initially planned on going with another roofer, made one more call - which led to expediting starting work, completed in just over 6 hoursâ ¦ I noticed my ridge vents were installed like they were when the took old roof off. I asked a day after they finished work if they could extend the 3 ridges to 1 ft from end of roof. No problem. Wow - they will be the number recommendations here in The Villages Floruda for me ;)

McGinnis Builders just replaced my roof. They were a pleasure to work with. Great communication and easy process. Melanie and Tyler were great. Good communication. Roof was done in one day. Tim and his crew were the ultimate professionals! Tim responded quickly with my request for an estimate and gave us a very reasonable quote that we accepted. His crew arrived timely and got the job done. I was especially impressed with the care taken by his crew to make sure the area on the ground around the roof was free and clear of any nails or materials from the roof. I would highly recommend Tim and his crew.

McGinnis Builders replaced our 2,380 sq ft. roof and we were not only very pleased with the work, but the workers as well. Tim (owner) came by when promised and explained the work to be done. He invited us to his shop to look at the various shingles and Melanie spent quite a bit of time with us to be sure we were comfortable with our selection. In fact, she gave us addresses of previous jobs so we could see what they looked like once installed and before we made a final decision. Tyler and the guys arrived right on time on our scheduled day and had the old shingles and paper off in a matter of two hours. We were dried in by noon. The workers were professional and hard working. They cleaned up as they worked so there was minimal mess. And when they finished the job, our yard and driveway were just as they found it. This was an A+ job and the price was very reasonable for the type of roof we have. I highly recommend McGinnis Builders and will keep their number handy for future work.

Best builder around!! I have know the owner for over 25 years, and had 2 house built by McGinnis builders in 3 years! Fantastic customer service, awesome Quality workmanship, clean and well treated work sites. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a custom, well build quality home. best in the business. Have recommended them to multiple friends and family and has done multiple jobs for them with great quality. Wouldnâ t chose any other builder Iâ m serious!! Awesome family owned, treat you like family and very affordable. Wonâ t find anyone like this companyâ ¦

I would give 0 starts if I could. I purchased a new build home from this builder. This builder appears to be a good person in the beginning. He promised a lot and did not finish those promises. Unfortunately it was verbal and not in writing. He is a pathological liar. Cant respond to emails in a timely manner. Does not return phone calls. The day of closing he stole the keys to the property after all paperwork had been signed and the house was mine. Refused to bring the keys back and my attorney's assistant had to go get them from his house. Refused to fix minor issues with the house. A month into living in the home and the A/C repair man came out and found Trash, Yes Trash in the Vents. I have found branches from trees in the walls. Almost two months into living in the home and the brand new refrigerator is still not fixed. The screens were supposed to be installed 1-2 weeks after closing. The screens were delivered to my house a couple days after closing and sat on my front porch for over month with multiple requests from me to have them put in. His son is his realtor and is probably worse. He has zero respect for woman or people that have served this country (pretty said because he claims to be a veteran himself). I am a female, disabled service connected veteran and was treated like dirt from this builder and his son. He is rude and hangs up on me. I could keep going on about how UNPROFESSIONAL this company is. Just stay away from this company and find a different builder.

"Ms. Champion, thank you for bringing your thoughts and opinions to our attention, we are sorry you feel you have been wronged. To begin, you purchased a spec home, not a custom build and as you stated, McGinnis Builders followed everything that was spelled out in the "Residential As-Is contract" that you agreed to and signed. The week of closing you fired your real estate agent that was representing you who happens to be your own family member because she would not go along with you in trying to have additional items done/added to the home that was not contractually agreed upon. In regards to the quality of the home, it is above standard and passed every state/local inspection that was required to complete the build. As for your screens, several attempts were made by our vendor to do the installation during their normal business hours, but you were requesting they make special arrangements of which they attempted to do a weekend install and you were not home. No one "took" your keys, keys are disbursed after the closing of which you refused to sign documents at the last minute and we would not release the keys until you did so. My son was not the agent representing you, you were advised by your own agent to use the proper channels of communication and have your agent reach out with questions/concerns. During the building process, McGinnis Builders offered for you to be released from the contract and refund your deposit and you declined at which point McGinnis Builders finished the home in accordance with your contract."

My 22-year-old roof in The Villages on a 2k designer home was not leaking but my insurance co. was giving me grief. I wanted to re-roof during the 2020 dry season. Tim M (owner) was on-site to provide an estimate within 24 hours of my call. His pricing was competitive with what my neighbors were paying and his on-line ratings were excellent. I have a personal preference for Landmark shingles, and he was able to source by color without delay. The roofing crew were the hardest working bunch of guys I have ever witnessed. Started a dawn. Done by 3 pm. I have recommended McGinnis to my friends and neighbors.

Mr. McGinnis is a man of his word. The night before the install I received a call the work team would arrive bright and early. Thanks to EST, it was still dark out, but about 6:15am.. When I looked out the window the ground covering was already laid and the shingle removal began literally 2 minutes later. The work was a team event and harmonious as they removed and tossed shingles into a dumpster. Don't know when that even arrived! The ice and water membrane was placed in a couple hours after beginning. Tyler McGinnis showed up on site to monitor the progress and check the job site. Then the truck pulled up and started the delivery onto the roof of the architectural shingles. The work was seamless. I left at 10:00 am and when I returned at 3 pm my husband said they finished at 2 pm. You would never know they had been on the property except for a huge improvement in the atheistic of our house. The roof is beautiful and the workmanship extraordinary. Service none better. The Marion County Inspector came out and had no issue with this job install and mentioned Tim by name. Thank you Mr. McGinnis and your team.

Mr. McGinnis was very helpful in discussing a problem I was having with the roof. His crew was here bright & early to start the job. They worked hard diligently the entire time they were here and cleaned my yard of debris as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his company. You won't be displeased!

I chose a roof on a neighbors house that was excellent after 19 years. I showed it to Tim. Tim said he knew exactly what it was. The neighhor s roof shingle was Certainteed Pewter but McGinnis Builders put on Tamku Heritage 30. There is a big difference in weight, color, no transferabiliy of warranty to the next owner, and length of warranty. Since Tim wasn t honest about his knowing the correct shingle and delivered another brand, I am worried about his son s addition after completion of the job concerning the warranty and transferability of my contract. I debated about canceling my check but his workers were exceptional. My problem is with Tim and the shingles he chose to use. What should have been an excellent experience ended very poorly.

I contacted Tim McGinnis for an estimate and he was out to my house within 4 hours. The estimate was great and I immediately signed a contract. He said he could start the day after and I agreed. The workers were out just before 7am and completed the take off and install in 5 1/2 hours. I counted 12 workers. Did an excellent job and a thorough cleanup after doing the job. Would highly recommend them.

*********WARNING********** DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!! THEY TAKE YOUR CHECK DEPOSIT IT AND NEVER SHOW UP TO DO THE WORK! I AM NOW HAVING TO CONTACT ANOTHER COMPANY AND AN ATTORNEY TO TRY TO GET MY MONEY! MEANWHILE HAD TO PUT OUT THE FUNDS A SECOND TIME TO GET THE WORK DONE. AND FYI... IF U DO EVER TALK TO SOMEONE, THEY PROMISE TO CALL U BACK OR PROMISE THE WORK TO BE DONE BY THE END OF THE WEEK AND WILL EVEN GO SO FAR AND SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOU BUT NEVER CALL BACK AND NEVER SHOW UP.!!!! ******BEWARE*******

Called Tim McGinnis for an estimate on my daughter's house and had quote 3 hours later. Great price and hired him. His project manager came to my house with shingle samples and to sign the contract. Was told they would start Friday at 6:00am (3 days away)! His crew arrived just before 6:00am and started with the tear-off using headlamps! The crew was professional and very organized. Everyone knew what their job was and went about it in an orderly, planned fashion. Everything was complete and the new roof done by 2:00pm. Tim's son,Tyler, was the on-site supervisor and was friendly, informative and a pleasure to deal with. The only hiccup was a lamppost that got broke but was replaced with a brand new one. I can't say enough about the job they did and would recommend McGinnis Roofing to everyone looking for a quality job at a fair price! Great customer service which is becoming harder and harder to find.

Mr McGinnis showed up to give us an estimate and it was very fair. He agreed to start the next day and at 7 am there were 11 people on my roof!! The job was completed in less than 2 days and they cleaned up after themselves! So happy to have hired this company!

This is a qualified review and will be updated if and when work is completed. I spoke with Mr. McGinnis today with the expectation of getting hit with IRMA within 24 hours. He assured me that he and crew would be available if damage does occur. I can now rest assured that my home will be protected from long term damage.

Called for an estimate. Owner of the company showed up immediately to inspect roof and give estimate. Estimate was immediately received at a great price. I informed him to begin immediately. Roofing was completed the next day. How fantastic is that???
