Brick or Stone Siding: Install or Completely Replace
McKay Construction reached out to us through Angie's list. After they visited and we asked questions through text and phone calls and also checked references, we hired McKay Construction to remove vinyl siding from the back of our house and to side it with real brick. We signed a contract March 13, 2026. The agreement read that vinyl siding would be removed from the house, siding would be removed from the property, repairs would be made to the house, infill with cement block to opening in back wall, a footer would be poured, and brick would be laid to side 2/3 of the back of the house. completion date was set at April 21, 2026. Today's date is May 16, 2026. The siding is off the house, laying in our backyard, our back door is covered in cement, our patio is covered with dirt. We cleaned up some of the dirt off the patio and it is in a pile in our backyard and we moved the siding to a more hidden area in our yard. The worker's also ripped a window screen and left trash in the back yard. A rotted area was found and boards were removed; our house was jacked up unsafely for 11 days before another worker came to replace studs & secure the house. The house was jacked up; our kitchen tiles were broken/protruding from the floor. We have asked several times when are they showing up to complete the job and we are given a number of excuses including it's raining - when indeed it was not raining. We paid McKay the first installment of $6580.00 and also gave an advance of the 2nd installment of $8693.00 to buy bricks prior to the terms were meant for the 2nd installation as we were hoping to rush the brick order so that work would not have to wait on them. Brick were delivered but there are not enough and they are not seeking more. We also paid $900.00 for the days needed to repair the rot and my husband worked with the employee for all the work days as he was sent alone to complete the job. It was very unsafe and had to be repaired asap. We have not seen Casey McKay in over a month we are seeking our money back, and retribution for the screen and ruined double doors. We have given him a chance to respond with no success.
