When Mechanical King called me to discuss my HVAC needs, I told the service technician, I wanted the HVAC system to be serviced for the winter. His original quote was $100.00. So, we scheduled a time for the system to be serviced. Shortly after finishing the call with Mechanical King, I received two other quotes that were $69.00. I called Mechanical King back and shared this information with them. They lowered the quote to $69.00. When the Mechanical King technician arrived, I showed him where my HVAC systems were located. He began to evaluate the systems. He said the flame sensor had to be cleaned, I asked if that would be an additional charge, he said yes, it took him a minute to tell me the amount, he then said a $75.00 additional charge. I thought that was strange since the sensor was not replaced only cleaned. So my total bill was $145.00 ($75.00 charge to clean the flame sensor). After the technician left, I received two more calls from HVAC companies wanting to give me a quote. So I decided to ask each company questions regarding the flame sensor. I asked if there would be a separate charge to clean the flame sensor. Both companies told me no, they said that service is included in the $69.00 fee. So, I decided to call Mechanical King back to voice my concerns and to request an explanation for being overcharged for a service that should have been included in the $69.00 fee. The technicians attitude, demeanor, and character changed and became negative and hostile. He said he went to school for this profession, he said he was licensed and probably had more experience than the other contractors and therefore, that was the reason for charging me extra to clean the flame sensor. I told him that I would like to cancel the visit we had scheduled in April 2021 to service the HVAC for the summer due to being overcharged on this project. I am also going to share my experience on Facebook and Twitter. I do not want anyone else to experience this type of service. I would not recommend Mechanical King to anyone.

He tried valiantly to repair our aged (20+ years) furnace to no avail. He could have done a quick fix that maybe would've gotten us through another month or so, but we decided to have the whole system replaced instead. It was time. He was able to get us back up and running within 24 hours and I'm now happily typing this from my warm and toasty home. I would not hesitate to recommend Mechanical King Heating & Air. Thank you!!
