We highly recommend Mendez Electric for any electrical and/or general construction work you need done on your home. We hired Mendez Electric, a multi-generational family business, in 2024 at the recommendation of a neighbor who had used them to completely rewire their 100-year-old home in Berkeley's Elmwood neighborhood. Mendez Electric did a full inspection and report of our electric system, which still included a lot of knob and tube. We ultimately hired Mendez Electric to undertake a major electrical project (six figure project) for our older home which included: 1) a complete system/wiring upgrade and installation of a 300 amp service panel upgrade. This work included all relevant permitting and coordination with PGE. Erick and his crew were so professional, communicative and reliable. They got the work done efficiently, as we were living in the house while work was being done. I highly recommend them.

They showed up high priority, helped walk through troubleshooting. They were gracious when they discovered a step I had missed when doing my own troubleshooting. In the end they did not charge me but I made sure to tip because they were gracious enough to make room in their schedule to come help.

Erick and his crew brought the house up to code and were efficient. They accurately provided the amount of downtime, did excellent work, were very thoughtful with checking to see that everything was working and cleaned up the work area. Can't say enough good about Mendez Electric and their work. They did some repair work on a circuit, plug, and garbage disposal that really had me stumped. I hired Erick and his crew to do a full rip/replace of old knob and tube wiring in our house, as well as upgrade our panel. He was able to get started right away, gave a very fair bid, and also provided some great guidance on different options for planning. Further, he made sure to maintain great communication throughout the project with daily updates. He and his team delivered quality work on time at a fair price. Finally, all this work was done during COVID, which meant dealing with city permit/inspection delays. Even through this, he followed up regularly with the city to push our permit and inspection through. Highly recommended!

This family run business was efficient, reliable and I was given recommendations I had not thought of when I was having my electrical work done.
