His contract was to demolish and rebuild the new chimney. He rebilled only the portion of the chimney, he left approximately 2 feet of broken masonry and bricks. exposed. He put this peace of the aluminum to cover the work that was not done. I found out on April 16th, told his wife, she stated: Michael was taking the chimney down to the roof line, and also told me that Michael said that this was a cane of worms. The next day when I called her, she said that Michael agreed only to take it down to existing flushing, and that he completed the work that I contracted him to do. I have continued leak in my attic, caused by the broken masonry on the chimney.

"Our contract was to replace ONLY the exposed portion of the 100 year old chimney.We installed temporary flashing to keep the rain out until the roofing company returned to install permanent step flashing.Which apparently they never did. NOW ONE YEAR later she claims the chimney is the cause for the leak,according to the roofing company. We have tried to help Mrs.B. several times by contacting the roofer. We have returned and re pointed the area under the roofers old flashing. .....UPDATE The masonry work passed inspection by the town code officer and the homeowner was waiting on the roofing company to return to install new step flashing."

Michelangelo Masonry NEVER returned to complete the job. They re-visited the home and agreed that job was incomplete. They made assurances that they would return within two weeks to complete the repairs. That was two MONTHS ago! They cashed the check but they did not return nor did they ever contact me about completing the work. Complaints have been filed with the BBB and NJ Consumer Affairs. My first review for Michelangelo Masonry on Home Advisor was removed... no wonder there are only 5-star reviews... negative reviews are removed! UPDATE 10/31/16: As of the last week of October, they did show up and completed the job, but this was only after they received the letter from NJ Department of Consumer Affairs

"There was a small area on the side of the step foundation( less than an hours work) that had to be revisited and we had hoped to return within two weeks. It was always our intention to finish the job, because we had another job scheduled 2 miles from this address we were trying to wait to do the two together. My apologies, I should have contacted the customer when we could not return within 2 weeks. We have since returned and re-pointed the 3 bricks and the home owner seemed satisfied ( asked for an estimate for a front walk way) Here at Michelangelo Masonry we appreciate all our customers, large jobs and small repairs and strive to give each job our best effort. Brick, Stone or Block Wall Repair
I hired Michelangelo to replace my retaining wall. Micheal fit me into his busy schedule quickly and did a great job replacing the wall. The end product looks great! His team was on time and courteous and left my driveway and the area they worked in spotless. I would highly recommend them!

I hired Michelangelo Masonry to repair a circular retaining wall around a large tree in our front yard, to repair cracks in the cement walk to the back yard and to repair a rear stoop. I was very pleased with their work, which exceeded my expectations. My only caution is that the original estimate was $1990 and the final price was $2190. I did not complain because the work was so good and the final price was well worth it!

I would highly recommend Michelangelo Masonry. Michael and his team were professional, knowledgeable, skillful and lovely to work with. He repaired our bluestone front porch as well as the stone on the front entryway of our house and a few other locations. He clearly discussed what needed to be done, made recommendations and delivered everything he promised. He takes pride in his work and it clearly shows. If I have any additional masonry work to be done, I will definitely be calling Michelangelo Masonry.

We had our front steps torn down and rebuilt. Mike and all the people involved in the project did a great job. I wish I could give more then 5 stars. My wife and I could not be happier the way the stairs turned out. Other people saw the work he was doing and wanted to hire him for there jobs. He does what it takes to do the job right the first time. Without a doubt you should hire Mike.

I just want to go on record to say I didn't know Mike prior to being introduced to him thru HomeAdvisor. I was skeptical about hiring anyone and so I got estimates from 3 masons before I hired Mike. I hired Michelangelo Masonry to remove and replace a concrete walkway on the side of my home. Mike assessed the work to be done carefully and explained to me why the old concrete was deteriorating and how the current design may have caused some of the large cracks. He provided me with a recommendation to improve the curves of the walkway to prevent the new concrete from cracking under stress. Mike also recommended a better type of concrete which incorporated fiber mesh to increase the durability. Mike was the only mason who took the time to offer recommendations for not just replacing my deteriorating walkway but improving the situation. Mike took one day to demo the existing walkway and removed the debris from my home. The second day he framed the new walkway and then coordinated the delivery of concrete and had it poured in the framing and then ensured the the material was shaped and settled properly before he left for the day. On the third day, he removed the framing and ensured the material had cited properly. He is such a perfectionist with his work and did not leave until he was satisfied that he did the job correctly. He did a great job. He was thorough, reliable and so personable! I wish all my projects could go as smoothly and be done as perfectly! I recommend Michelangelo Masonry to anyone in need of any type of masonry work.

RAVE REVIEWS for Mike Vuocolo, mason extraordinaire, owner of Michaelangelo Masonry. His masterful work is OFF THE CHARTS EXCEPTIONAL, and my husband & I couldn't be more pleased. The stone wall, and stone borders he created were not only aesthetically beautiful, but substantial and absolutely PERFECT in alignment & structure. Equally AMAZING is Mike's over-the- top personality plus. We had the "real deal", a true trifecta--- OUTSTANDING masonry, STUPENDOUS PERSONALITY, and a FAIR PRICE. Mike went "above and beyond...." during the entire process, and to say we were "blown away" by his superior work would be an understatement.
