I had a claim on my homeowners insurance for a sewer line that broke. The plumber contacted this company for the flooring repairs. If I had to do it over, I would have told the plumber I would find my own company. They were contracted to pull up the sub floor, remove the insulation, replace with new insulation, and new sub flooring, new flooring in the bathroom and new carpeting in hall and living room. The fist issue I had was they buried the heating vent under the flooring. I let the owner know right after it happened. After delay upon delay of my appointment being canceled, the day of insulation the owner called me and told me that the heating vent did not have a boot on it so they buried it. So once again the flooring was delayed until I had someone come out and put a boot on. When the flooring was reopened up, It was discovered that they did not remove the insulation that had human waste on it, instead they put a 20.00 roll of insulation over the old insulation, then put the subfloor down and charged me 500.00 for the insulation. I didn't complain about 500.00 since they were removing insulation that was contaminated. The charge for removing sub flooring of 40 sq ft was an additional 2500.00. When they removed the subflooring they damaged my walls. Prior to the carpet and vinyl flooring being installed, I painted and repaired all the damages and requested from the owner to be mindful off the walls since I just repaired and painted them. Day of installation finally arrives, no quarter round in the bathroom, owner claims he did not know he needed to install, even thought it was on the quote and they removed it from the bathroom. There are large gaps where the flooring and walls meet. They damaged the walls again. The best part was they carpeted all the way up to the front door instead of leaving the vinyl exposed that was already in place. Making opening and cling of the door very difficult. They were over prices, not professional, delays after delays. This has to be the worst contractor experience I have had. I work in the trades and I couldn't imagine treating my customers like this. We would be out of business.

They were clean & courteous

On the positive side, Michigan Carpet and Hardwood did a good job on stretching my carpet to remove loose areas and completed the job quickly. However, Bob and his assistant damaged my bedroom wall -- which will now require me to spend over $100 on drywall repair and painting -- while moving furniture and -- , most disappointingly -- they were not honest in letting me know that they caused the damage. I was surprised to discover the deep gash in my wall after they had already departed. I reported the damage but -- so far -- there has been no offer to repair it. Not the way to do business!

My floors look great. They did a great job at a fair price.

Came in finished the job in 1 day.! Great work great company. Great price!
