"It appears that you have received poor information from those involved in the transaction as the delay is not the fault of the appraiser. Part of the appraiser's role in an FHA appraisal is to be sure that minimum property standards are met. The fee was not set by the appraiser, but by the lender, and the fee was accepted by the appraiser. Your apparent ire would be better directed at the insufficient repair attempted. I will not apologize for doing my job ethically, even though you would like me to overlook an issue, acting unethically is not something I am willing to do for anybody. You should have facts straight before you attack somebody."
"The appraisers role in a purchase transaction is to provide the lender an opinion of market value as defined in the report. This may or may not be the same as the contract price, particularly in a "hot market" as offers often exceed what market indications may be. The role of of the appraiser is not to make sure a real estate deal "works"."
