Mike Kemp Independent Contractor

Sadly, other reviewers have had similar experiences to ours. Kemp seems like a nice earnest guy. But he over-estimated his ability and underestimated the extent of the roofing job. We knew we were in trouble when his helpers proved to be his partner and their toddler. He seems to have a hard time with technology --- doesn't read or return emails for days, doesn't seem to know how to use the phone. When he couldn't complete the repair, he first gave us an estimate to replace the whole roof which was more than two subsequent estimates from major, reputable roofing companies. Unlike these reputable companies, he would not provide proof that "his crew" were insured. When we told him we would not hire him to replace the roof and would like him to return at least a portion of our deposit, he at first agreed and then refused. We're unsure whether he's just clueless and inept or he's a scammer.

Mike did a really nice job, and my roof is no longer leaking! I also had some health issues in the middle of this and Mike came over anyway to get my roof to stop leaking even knowing that I was having some temporary financial difficulties. He was flexible, allowing me to spread out the payment to make this possible. Thank you so much...great job!
