We are a locally-owned radon mitigation company serving families along the front range of Colorado. Radon is a radioactive, lung cancer-causing gas, and half of Coloradans have it lurking in their homes. We test for and lower toxic levels in your home so you can stay healthy and get high on life, not radon. After more than a decade as a trained respiratory therapist, our owner Darren Corso has seen first-hand how essential lung health is to the longevity of our lives. Unfortunately, in Colorado, radon is a major threat to that livelihood. Darren started Mile High Radon Control to stop the problem in your home before it becomes one in your body. How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I have been a trained respiratory therapist for more than a decade, and I have seen first-hand how essential lung health is to the longevity of our lives. Unfortunately, in Colorado, radon is a major threat to that livelihood. I started Mile High Radon Control to stop the problem in your home before it becomes one in your body. .

Darren came out to install a radon system in our new home. Darren was affordable, professional and FULLY LICENSED. Fully Licensed and trained was something most of the other contractors lied about after a simple google search. My new house's radon test came in high enough for the inspector to flag it. After moving in, I called up this company and got a hold of Darren. Quick and easy process. He came out for an estimate within a few days, then again 2 weeks later to install the system in an afternoon. He even painted the vent to match the siding, no extra cost (though I did provide the paint/supplies)! Price was very reasonable. I high recommend these guys!

There were several complications with my house and schedule. Darren worked through each issue and concern with patience and expertise. He was very helpful, went above and beyond his scope of work and made recommendations that really helped us out. I especially liked the level of communication. He made it easy to schedule. The pictures and video helped me understand the concerns and make decisions that kept us on track. I felt so confident in his work that I had him remediate the house where my grandchildren now live. Highly recommend!

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
