They were one time, did a great job.

They did the worst job on our on our concrete. First they knowingly poured the wrong Crete then they tried to cover it up. It has been peeling since they left. Worst concrete pour ever!

On 12/30/18 Nigel Mills of Mills Construction texted me about my HomeAdvisor request to construct a patio and a pergola at my house. We met onsite and then on 01/07/19 I sent a lengthy text to him that explained what we wanted, how we wanted it built, what were his responsibilities, and the price we agreed to pay for the project. The agreed upon price was $6,900. Nigel Mills replied via text on the same day agreeing to the deal. On 01/27/19, he poured the concrete and he wanted payment for the concrete. I advised him that he had not installed the drain extension nor provided the decorative rock. He stated that he would do that when he did the pergola construction. So I paid him the $4,000 for the concrete work even though the drain extension and the rock had not been completed. Then he started building the pergola. He finished most of the wooden frame construction work for the pergola on 02/18/19. On 02/25/19, he completed 80% of the roof and left one side unfinished. On 03/01/19, the roof leaked on all 3 sides and I sent Nigel Mills a text showing the leaks. He replied and stated that his guys would come back out and repair the leaks. On 03/08/19, they came back out and put the rest of the roof on and he sent a guy to repair the leaks. He did not bring the decorative rocks, nor finish the drain extension, nor provide a needed electrical plate that they broke, nor had they removed all of the plastic stickers on the top of the roof, and a few other smaller items. He asked me to pay him $2,500 of the remaining $2,900 that was owed, and he stated that I could pay the remainder when he finished everything. So I paid him the $2,500. i He has not come back out to finish. Also, when it started raining again, it appears that none of the leaks had been fixed and water is still leaking on all 3 sides. I sent him text videos of all of the leaks. Nigel Mills texted me on 03/12/19 and said that he would come out the next day to finish. He did not show up. On 03/15/19 he texted me again that he was coming out to finish. On 03/31/19 I texted him videos of the work that had not been completed and of the leaks that were getting worse. He replied on that day via text OK. On 04/04/19 I sent him more videos of the leaks and he replied on the same day that he would come out as soon as the rain was over to finish the job and repair the leaks. On 04/08/19 I texted him and asked him when he will come out and finish and he texted back â this weekâ . I texted him on 04/12/19, 04/26/19,05/04/19 and asked him when he was going to come back out and finish. On 05/04/19 he texted me and stated that he would be out â this week to finishâ . On 05/16/19, I texted him explaining that I had left a voice message and wanted to know when he was coming back out. He did not reply. Then I texted him again on 05/17/19 and he did not reply. On 05/19/19 I texted him more pictures of the leaks and asked him if he would come out this week to finish. He texted back on the same day that he would be back this week. He did not show up. As of now, he has not finished the job and the pergola that he installed still leaks on 3 sides as well as in several places in the middle. He has not been back to the jobsite for almost 90 days, since 03/08/19, even though he has texted me at least 12 times since then stating that he was coming back out to finish. Nigel Mills has provided me with a covered pergola that leaks on all 3 sides, he left unfinished work to be done, his crew broke an electrical plate and never replaced it, he never provided the decorative rock, he never finished the drain extension, they left concrete on the door, several windows, and on the brick wall, and never cleaned up the job site. Nigel Mills and Mills Construction should come back out and repair the sloppy job that they did and they should be required to finish the work that they had contracted to do.

The job started out as a perimeter fence around our house. It started in January. Now the fence looks great. They did a great job. Then we decided to hire them to paint our brick house and our metal roof. That job took a long time, I understand that the rain and the weather was part of it. But there are days when the sun was out and there were no workers. We have had to go back-and-forth between the workers and the owner, Nigel, to discuss things that needed to be done. Nigel told us that the roof had been painted with a clear primer, which was a lie. I called the place where he bought the paint/primer and they told me he had only purchased white primer. I do not know if it was the workers lying to Nigel or Nigel lying to us. I had to go back-and-forth several times on how many coats of paint that should be done on the roof. I felt as if it was a negotiation for the service that he was providing for us. As if he was trying to get away with minimal work for the same amount of money. I had to call him and specifically tell him that the roof needed second coat. He promised that he would show up and do that. There were some touchups around the window where the paint had bled over from when the house is being painted. So that was also something else that I had to keep reminding them to do. So when they were finished with the work Nigel asked me to come outside and check. Like they were children getting their room inspected so they could go play outside. I looked at that roof and it looked the same as it did the day before. I noticed that there was pollen on the roof. They had not been here for more than three hours. And I was inside, I did not hear them on the roof very often. So I said to Nigel that I do not believe that he did a second coat. You can see the splotchiness still on the roof. And you can also see dust prints from their boots leading all the way to the edge of the roof. Hence proving that there was no way that they could have painted that surface and it be wet with the boot print. Nigel said they were his prints to make sure it was coated correctly. As I said before, the workers had not been here long and the paint on the roof should have not been dry enough for him to walk on. He said he would come back in the morning to look again, have not heard from him since. I would not recommend Mills Construction, Nigel and his crew.

Nigel was quick to respond and come out for the estimate. It seemed like the job was slow paced but I know they had to wait for concrete etc. The concrete walk, pad and step look terrific! I would use Mills Construction again.

This company is very upfront and honest about their work and explain in detail every step in construction. They accomplished a slab, fence, and built a huge boat cover for me in 2 weeks without cutting corners or risking the building integrity. They ensured the job was done right and any issues that came up were addressed during the final stages of each project. Neighbors drive by and compliment their work all the time and ask for the company's information. For the amount of money I paid them, they did an incredible job with everything and we stayed on budget. Great price for great work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and they do a variety of construction projects. Honest contractor that can be counted on to do things right!

I had work done by this company in July/August this year. The concrete work was good. Nigel indicated that he was in construction and since I had a screen door on the sun-room that needed replacing he stated he could do that. Well, I paid for all of my work on 10, August 2018 and still no door. At first, I was told it was because of manufacturer backlog. Now I do not even get a reply to my inquiry. I'm out the $275.00 I paid for door and labor. I know better - but bought into his "I finish all of my projects as if it was my own home". So PLEASE do not pay for any work you do not receive!!!

Concrete work was outstanding with exception of not sealing the finished product. The negative ratings are due to a project which a subcontractor was used, poor workmanship, product quoted and was paid for but never delivered; 30 days after completion and payment in full. Still seeking resolution.

The owner was very responsive, easy to communicate with, and stayed on top of the project throughout. Highly recommend him to anybody for concrete.
