From start to finish, Mills River, Mechanical was a breath of fresh air to work with. I had multiple estimates with people not following through or calling back, which led me to research a bit more. Iâ  m so glad I did. Ian in sales, help design a perfect system for my house. We had the Mitsubishi mini split cassettes installed, Doug (owner) and his crew showed up on time and on schedule. Which is very important to me.. The team, Eric, Nick, Cody, Alex, and James, you are absolutely the best!

I first had another company come out and look at my heat pump, they told me that the entire system needed to be replaced and that it would cost me approximately $5,000.00. I decided to get some other estimates before getting the work done, Doug from Mills River Mechanical came out, on a Sunday no less, looked at it and had it up and running in about half an hour, and only charged me $125.00! :) He's a lifesaver, had no idea how I was going to come up with that $5,000. He was very polite and professional and a true honest man.

Doug was very helpful and tried to walk me through trouble shooting steps to avoid him coming out and charging o service my unit (which was very nice). He came out the next day and had our unit back up and running in 3.5 hours. Wasn't sure about the rate he charged as I have nothing to compare it to. Overall satisfied.

Doug came out and checked out our HVAC. Did not try to sell us something we did not need! Next time I need a HVAC person, Doug will be the one I call.

Doug Peery of Mills River Mechanical was everything you could want when you hire a professional contractor to work on your house. When Doug came to my house to assess the situation, I immediately liked him; he was easy to relate to and on first the first meeting seemed trustworthy. Prior to Doug coming to my home I had another â  highly recommendedâ  HVAC â  professionalâ  come to my house. He charged me $600 for putting Freon into the unit without checking for the leak. A big No/NO when it comes to repairing the unit as I found out when the unit stopped working after 5 hours later. When I spoke with the man, he was extremally defensive and wanted to sell me a unit he pulled out of a house that he installed a new unit in, for $1000.00 Again no guarantee. Would not stand behind the service he was charging me for. Not only was I upset about the money I lost but even worse, I was put into a bad position with the friend that recommended him so highly. The first repairman was lazy and greedy. Trying to make a fast buck without putting the work in. Doug Peery was everything this guy was not. He has integrity. He is dependable. He is honest. He worked on my unit, looking for the leak for over two hours. At one point he was baffled and almost gave up. But he was determined to find it. He went back to the unit and an hour later came to me with a big smile on his face. Success! He finally found that little son of a gun leak. He repaired it, filled the unit with Freon and charged me a reasonable fee. But the one of the best things things that Doug Peery did was that he wrote on the receipt, â  Ninety day guarantee on all work performedâ  WOW!. Doug is a rare breed of professional these days. A man with integrity not willing to sell his soul for a few extra â  Benjamins.â  From now on he is my GO TO guy for anything to do with heating and air. Thanks Doug! You have renewed my faith in Asheville contractors.

We had a bad experience with a company whose heating and air guy told us that we needed either a $3000 repair, a better $5000 repair, or a new system for $7800! Everything seemed to be working fine. I just had a gut feeling that he was being dishonest, so I decided to get another opinion. I found Doug Peery with Mills River Mechanical online and chose him because of the excellent reviews. He is AMAZING! He found absolutely nothing wrong with our heat and air system and even cleaned the coil on the outdoor air unit. He was great with calling and texting, came at a convenient time for us, put our furnace back together- the other guy had left it apart with screws on the floor- and was friendly and honest. The guy he brought with him was just as smart, professional, and friendly as Doug! I can't recommend him highly enough for mechanical issues in the home. THANKS DOUG!

I have the most complicated system - he has been so wonderful and patient and has gone above and beyond to fix the issues I needed. Nobody has ever performed such great work and has always figured out the best way to make the repair work perfect.
