The Western Handyman, LLC

Hired Western Handyman to put French doors in a room. Paid the amount of 633.82 for the order of the doors. The check was cashed Oct 1st.2020. I made contact several times, he was busy with other work and promised to come back and complete the job. I never received the work or the doors, Contacted them via text January 2021, and I did not hear anything back.

I hired this professional to strip, repair, paint, and finish some wood furniture (dining table, 4 chairs, coffee table, and 2 side tables). He initially told me the work would take 2 weeks at the time of pickup. More than 6 weeks later he finally returned my furniture. My initial impression was that the work was good. As a got a better look, I could see the paint was globbed on in places and had the bare wood showing through in others. When I turned the furniture over, I could see that the old stain had not been removed from the underside, the paint had not been sanded between coats (if there are multiple coats), and there was no finishing polyurethane to protect the paint. Only the tops of the tables were painted, only the major repairs had been completed, and there were a few new dents in the wood where there had not been previously. He did not even bother to wipe off the dirt and sawdust that had accumulated on my furniture as it sat around his shop. He never followed up with me about how the job was progressing when I would call him to find out when the work would be done, and would only keep telling me **Soon** I hired this professional because I did not have the time to do the work myself. Now I will have to strip off the bad paint job AND the unremoved stain, paint it properly and apply the finish to protect the paint myself. He is very friendly, but I do not recommend this contractor if you want your furniture refinished. You will do a better job if you watch some YouTube videos, read some articles, and do the work yourself.

They were quick to respond, listened to our concerns and scheduled time the same day to come take a look at the issue. I had tried a few others first and none were willing to come to the house to diagnose the issue. Donnie was excellent and ended up fixing the issue quickly.
