Edward Mitchell charged me approximately $20,000. to fix my foundation, I now have to hire a reputable company to fix the damage he has caused, over $10,000. dollars more. He scammed me pretty good. If he shows up at your door, call the police and have him put off of your property. You will be doing yourself a great service.

Review by Gene A. in San Antonio, TX
Edward Mitchell was paid approximately 18,000 to do foundation work at my home and his crew did not back fill and compact any of the soil taken from under my foundation and instead piled tit around the perimeter of my home. As a result I now have rain water and mud running under my foundations with cracked and buckled driveways, sidewalks with the masonry cracking and falling from the front of my home. After speaking with Mr. Mitchell, he explained that the damage done by his crew was done in a workman like manner and is not liable for the damage. On top of this one of his employees contacted me and offered money for a good review. I realize now that I should have let an attorney look over his contract before signing it. Like my Father used to say," Never trust a religious salesman".
Response by MitchCo: Work was done per agreement upon raising superstructure nearly 5 inches. Voids are created between slab and grade allowing back fill methods to be treated as a slurry of mud and water to fill in voids-often times will require additional revisit to top off excavated and back fill areas of influence. Sidewalk and driveway are additional work orders and to be treated as such. Often a sidewalk or driveway may be affected during the lifting process and is unforeseen. MitchCo is always willing to work with clients even offering in house payment plans to accommodate. As for religious salesperson, Jesus Christ was the only perfect person and he was crucified. MitchCo is a company that includes Christ in its contracting services and there is no apology for this. Keeping in mind MitchCo is a National Foundation Repair Association member and abides by the contracts and rules and regulations municipality mandates. MitchCo does reward for referrals and reviews considering it is time consuming and appreciated to help the next candidate be prepared and educated with overall experience.

Completed the repair on our foundation, however they left a huge crack in our walk way. We notified them of the issue, they stated they would come back out to fix the crack in our cement and didn’t. They stopped answering the phone on our calls and never repaired the crack they caused.

Horrible company to do job with , no customer service , and lack of respect. Will not return phone calls. Also canceled appointment without notification. Hold house ransom for $100.
Response by MitchCo: MitchCo has already addressed the customer's concerns. They did not want to abide by the service warranty they signed - they do not want to pay the $100 annual fee in accordance with the warranty. We requested that they pay the fee prior to our visit via credit card but they refused. One of our workforce was sent out anyway to evaluate the situation and the client was notified he needs two more piers he solicited our workforce to do it off record and not to go through our company. He was also contacted and informed we could make an adjustment to his house under our current warranty as long as he paid the $100 annual fee and he refused and said he would hire another company and was advised his warranty would be voided if he had another company do the work; he said he would contact his 3 attorneys to have this matter litigated. Non the less MitchCo still has made arrangements to have the adjustment made even after the client refused to pay the annual fee; the adjustments will be documented and the customer responded with, "have a nice day A**hole". At this point we have a workforce member going back out to do the work and the customer has insisted on hiring the workforce member to do the additional work requested off the record and at a lower rate of pay. MitchCo has done nothing wrong and the customer refuses to abide by the terms of the warranty. This review is not about the work that was done (effectively and in a timely manner). The customer also filled out our Completion Satisfaction form signed off one year ago.

When I asked about the company that would be financing this project for $10,400. I wanted to know what the financing amount would be. When I went online after the job was done it blew me away that GREENSKY FINANCINING had already charged me $125.00 just to setup the acct. & 85.00/mo. for 6 months on top. I had to withdraw from my CD to payoff this horrific amount and lost interest on my account of 10 years to do so. MitchCo needs to get SYNCHRONY and get rid of Greensky because Greensky is a ripoff. Take my word for it as a 75 year old person breaking into my CD really hurt my future plans. GET RID OF GREENSKY AND GET SYNCHRONY AS THE LAST COMPANY IS AWESOME AND THEY DON'T FORCE THE CUSTOMER TO USE UP WHAT LITTLE SAVINGS WE HAVE TO PAY FOR DAMAGES TO OUR HOMES. How do I know about SYNCHRONY??? I used them when I purchased all my appliances, etc. when I moved from an apartment to my home. SYNCHRONY IS THE BEST COMPANY and I got it through Lowe's.

First off Luke was nice. They were suppose to show up and work from 8 to 4. Showed up at 8 and said they needed to buy materials. Didn't come back til 2PM, and didn't leave til 9pm. No call running late nothing. When they did come back this RUDE Hispanic male about 6ft adding more materials saying we had to buy more material. I ask why then that is when the attitude came into play. I asked for his name while in the phone with the sales rep( being recorded on voicemail) he ignored me. I asked him 3x then he gave me a false name threw his hand up in the air and gave me his back. Mind you inside MY house. He then cleans his mudding feet in the hallway of my home. And no they didn't place any plastic or come in with foot covers. He then started using foul language in Spanish thinking I didn't understand him. The put down our floor and the foreman had to tell him to pull it up and relay it because of the gaps. The next day when our plumber came, he told us that the floor wasn't put in right to support the shower that he was putting in. Our plumber and Luke spoke to be sure that there would be no miscommunication, and even spoke to the foreman. They had to come back to fix it and to open the bathroom door that was jammed by a metal edge that was not removed. The owner did call and DID NOT apologize for his employees behavior. We paid almost $7000, for this Horrible experience. Insted he blammed the plumber. I am not over reacting or being dramatic. This did happen and I would hate for this to happen to someone else. You trust and let them into your home and feel like you got slapped in the face. Luke did apologize, but he was the only one. We paid for their company to put in our sub floor in the bathroom, only to have another company come in and do it correctly.

Below is a typed copy of the COMPLETION LETTER OF A JOB WELL DONE BY THE ACTUAL FACTUAL CLIENT AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBLE PARTY FOR JOB COMPLETION and the form was hand written and signed by said client (original can be requested via email; unfortunately attachments aren't able to be uploaded as a reply here): "Customer acknowledges work was done as agreed fulfilling contractual obligations. Additional Notes:" ""Very grateful for all their hard work. The beginning questionable, but resolved""
