"This customer was on the schedule. Started on a Friday, returned today. It's a new construction deck stain. When I returned on day 3 they had landscapers there digging trenches for sprinklers so I could not set up a ladder to finish. Customer told ME to tell the landscapers to leave because they couldn't "wait a month". I started 3 days prior. I'm not the foreman for this to be able to tell them to leave. It wasn't the right thing to do. That was unacceptable to them. This is the first job I have ever worked that wont be finishing based on how I was treated. They gave a deposit to pay for material w/ prep labor. Done. Material is still on site."

"Job was completed as discussed. Receipt was sent at time of completion to email on file. However, I did receive voicemail with profanity to resend when I got in town from a camping trip when I did not have cell service. I do not respond to or engage in that kind of dialogue. "I have used HomeAdvisor for two years and have never had a bad review or unhappy customer until now. Here is my response to this review.. The fact is the customer wanted just the floor stained because he felt he could not afford or wanted the rest of the deck stained. I agreed the rails and the rest of the deck was in still good shape and didnt need stained this year. I gave him a written proposal stating I would stain the floor and the stair's top boards only. When the job was completed he wanted the whole deck stained for that same price. I said that is not what we agreed on. He said if I did not stain the whole deck he would contact HomeAdvisor and get me in hot water with them and give me a bad review. HomeAdvisor contacted me by phone and wanted to hear my side of the story. I said the client was wanting something we did not agree to and was trying to bully me into doing something for nothing. HomeAdvisor asked me to please send the proposal I had sent the client. I did. HomeAdvisor was satisfied with my explanation and the copy of proposal I sent them. (That was almost four months ago) The client's additional charges against me are unfounded. The written proposal verified what I said I would do. I did what I said I would do. He wanted something for nothing and thought by bulling me he would get what he wanted. As far as I am concerned I wont be commenting any further about this particular review. HomeAdvisor did there home work and I thank them for that. Mitch"
