Price was double what was quoted o phone. They did not mark all the boxes as to content. Left too much for me to pack myself considering the time. Told me special care in wrapping type of TV THEN DIDNT EVEN WRAP IT TO PROTECT IT

    3.5 Stephanie S. Portland, OR

They started off strong but spent a lot of time over wrapping items. At the end of the day, they did not unwrap some items. They also started throwing my things.

    5.0 Lisa S. Beaverton, OR

Very professional, worked with my needs. Took some of the stress out of moving.

Look at the Better Business Bureau reports on this company before you hire these crooks! Moda Moving is the most dishonest, unethical, and incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. We filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Oregon Department of Justice, FTC, FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, ATA (American Trucking Association), and U.S Department of Transportation because so they were so unethical and incompetent. Four of our biggest complaints were: Item #1 â Moda Moving relocation consultant that came to our home knowingly and deliberately deceived us. Item #2 â Moda Moving was negligent in moving our household items in a timely manner. Item #3 â Moda Moving was negligent in the handling our items multiple times and storing in a warehouse for two weeks, which resulted in numerous damaged and missing items. Item #4 â Moda Moving did not respond to phone calls for status of our move as well as our complaints. Beware of this company. The estimator (Zane) who come out to our house is a master at â bait and switchâ . Everything he promised never happened. He will lie to directly to your face about what the move rate is, among other things. What you sign is not what he promises you. We were told our items would be loaded on ONE truck and unloaded ONCE. Instead, our items were loaded onto multiple trucks, unloaded in a warehouse in Wilsonville, left sitting in a warehouse for two weeks, loaded on a truck AGAIN, and then went through Seattle, before finally arriving in Montana. We paid over $4000 a month in advance to â guarantee and reserveâ that our move would happen the week we planned. Instead, we had to wait over two weeks for our items to arrive. Moda Moving is clueless about how logistics and scheduling works. The destination agent on my signed agreement (Montana Transfer Company) was not even used. This, despite the fact they had multiple empty trucks in the Portland area the week we moved and could have brought our items to Montana. We were told we would have â professional moversâ handle our items with care. This did not happen. We had movers that could not ever figure out to turn a chair 90 degrees, so it fit though our front door easily. Instead, they just smashed it through the front door. They dropped a treadmill on its side, and it shook the entire house. Then, the supervisor has the gall to tell me that whoever assembled the treadmill broke it. By the time we finally received our items, they looked like they had been through a war zone. And items were missing and never showed up. This was due to the careless and reckless way they were handled by Moda Moving. I contacted their management (Chris, Randy, & Joe), but my concerns about their unethical practices just got dismissed. Or not answered at all. We received over $1600 back in damaged items/claims from Moda Moving parent Company, North American Van Lines. This was through a tedious claims process. Yet, two months after filing the claims on missing items that never got delivered, we still have not received money for lost items. One of the worse decisions we ever made was to hire Moda Moving.

My move from a single story 1200 ft2 home took 14 hours and they did not move everything. We had ~50 boxes, two fridges, a small freezer, W/D, two beds, 2 dressers, 2 couches, 3 nightstands, a bar, a hutch, 2 coffee tables, 2 end tables, 3 shelves, 1 desk and 1 vanity. They said we needed two trips with 3 total movers. The movers were nice and arrived on time. Nothing was actually moved until 90 minutes in, while one guy walked around with a clipboard and the other two wrapped our furniture with blankets and plastic wrap. It was slow going and inefficient. They had to empty out the truck at one point after it was over half full to reload it for some reason. After 8 hours of loading our things (but not everything bc their boss told them not to?), they finally left to the new house. All the while, they kept talking about all the overtime they would get. When they arrived, we confirmed we did not want them to take an extra trip - we would finish it the next day. We also told them we just wanted them to unload the boxes into the garage (not their destination place noted on each box) and deliver our furniture an appliances to where they needed to go. The guy in charge called his boss and said it would talk about 90 minutes - the actual time was closer to 4.5 hours and that was with our help unloading stuff and helping to carry our appliances upstairs. We were able to move/travel/unload all leftover stuff (some of our furniture, our shed and packed up garage) the next day with family in under 3 hours. Moving is a luxury and we were happy to have help, however the inefficiencies were awful. The guy in charge said that his office manager, Chris did not tell him about the furniture or the appliances and that they really needed another mover to help, although I had spoken with Chris the day prior to confirm what we wanted moved and the staffing numbers. I do not know if this was a scam and do not really care. What I care about is that this was stressful and super disorganized

They postponed the move twice, then the truck had a leak in the top, all the mats were soaked, had to get new ones, they only moved half of the household said to call at 7 am next morning. left several messages they did not call back. we went to the movers in Wilsonville, still, they did not call back. they overcharged me, one man left around 2 pm for a dr appt for 2 hours, they charged for him being there, then he left at 5 pm, another man came at 6 pm; they went to dinner, and charged for overtime as they unloaded til a bit after 8 pm. left 5 items here covered with mats, still are and all the wet mats are at the old house. etc. etc... we had to rent a Uhaul and hire a man to haul the rest of the furniture, then hire another hauler to bring the piano for $$249 more. they have never answered my emails or phone calls or tried to get all their mats. overcharged me, I am 94 yrs young and this was a disaster at this time in my life or anyone.
