Similar to one of the previous review. My issue was mold growing on drywall. He came and did his valuation and charged $250. He did put together a fix quote which is $7000. I asked if there is anything more reasonable that he could do to remove the mold and he said no. I ended up finding a handyman who removed the molded drywall, nicely sealed it and repainted for only less than $500. So overall he is a professional but fell short to come up with solutions that is practical.
Response by Moisture & Restoration Consultants, LLC: There is a huge difference between doing the work correctly and having a handyman do the work. Not knowing who this customer was I have to guess at what the job entailed. And to be honest, the work might look great, but would it pass testing by an Indoor Environmental Professional. Normally, if something can be done by a handyman we will recommend that course of action, however, if the work product would create any liability (i.e. work in a rental unit, etc.) we always recommend that professional testing be done by a third party and the work performed by a certified and properly insured remediation contractor such as Paul Davis Restoration.

Dave Osborne, who was assigned my job, is a great guy who explains what has happened and what needs to be done very clearly and understandable by persons not familiar with this type of work. He is very easily available for any questions and communicates well. The work is very professionally done. It takes away some of the stress of what has happened to your home and the complications of dealing with the insurance company, etc. Highly recommended.

Actually, at this point we are only halfway (or so) through the process and once everything is removed/dried etc a great deal needs to be rebuilt and replaced (the whole back wall of our garage as well as an outside staircase next to that wall). Check with me in a about 8 weeks for my final evaluation.

I was very impressed with Dave's knowledge in fire recovery, and not surprised to hear his history includes working as a contractor; that, plus his expertise negotiating in fire damage reclamation has made me feel confident that my restoration needs will be funded and the sound of hammers soon fill my ears. I wish I had contacted Paul Davis Restoration earlier!

Inspection seemed fine, had others do the work.
Response by Moisture & Restoration Consultants, LLC: I am actually sure what this comment means. All of the mold remediation, structural drying, smoke and odor clean-up is performed by our trained technicians who are our employees. As owner, I do not do the physical work and am unclear why this comment was made.
