"An expert witness in litigation, I favor owners and not insur. companies. I use long proven, food industry methods rather than newer residential ones. This couple simply believed competitive scare tactics. It is KNOWN, that IICRC (mold standards), just like ALL other industry standards, allows to diagnose & fix (eg.your Dentist - no conflict). Ethics? Wintertime outdoor spores are always zero. Most likely, all the competitors above sell outdoor tests. Food industry methods compare to gov'mt IAQ targets (eg. EPA). The newer residential herd mentality uses wildly fluctuating outdoor spore levels for comparisons. They also likely securing lucrative insurance claims work flow to their companies. This motive can result in limited damages the customers can recoup with their claim. Bottom line is, even nice people being mislead can get upset! They spent $500"

I was told by numerous "professionals' the many ways to fix the problem. We vented the bathrooms properly, added soffit vents, and replaced the roof including all of the plywood. Mark came in an went over the problems causing the mold. He found an area that wasn't properly sealed and was allowing warm air to penetrate the attic, thus allowing the mold to grow.
