I met with George Molter (lead contractor for Molter'ÂÂs Construction) on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, and went over the details for a tear down and re-build of a small deck. His cost was $825. According to our contract, the project would take 2 days to complete-weather permitting. He required 60% down at signing, so I gave him a check for $475 made out to Kelly Molter (owner of Molter'ÂÂs Construction and Rental Service). I was told by George that he could start Friday, and have the project completed that same day. On Friday, early afternoon, he had not started the job (weather was fine, btw) and I get a text from him saying he had a ÂÂfamily medical issue, but woulÂd still be over to do the tear out later, and the build tomorrow. No sign of him. On Saturday, (another nice weather day), he tells me via text that he'ÂÂll be at the job site at 11:00 a.m. Again, no sign of George. At 2:00 p.m., a text came saying he had problems with his truck that was carrying all of the job materials. At 7:00 p.m., I get another text saying his truck is fixed, and to not lose faithÂ-it'ÂÂs ÂÂunder controlÂ-and he will for sure be there at 9:30 a.m. the next morning. Well, he showed up on Sunday, tore down the deck and hauled it away, but didn'ÂÂt return because "ÂÂsomething came up".ÂÂ Today, Monday (cloudy and 52 degrees), no activity as of this writing, although George assured me he'ÂÂd be over. Update: The deck was completed on Friday of that same week.(George even worked through a day of rainy weather to get it done.) The deck was built well, and I'm thankful the job was completed.
