TLDR: bad quality work, expensive, extremely slow, bad communication. And this was someone we considered a close friendâ ¦ My wife and I asked Moody to come out in April to see if he had any solutions for a dead spot of grass near our driveway. He came out and convinced us we would save a lot of money in the long run if we redid our irrigation not only in that spot but all over the front and back yard. We decided to trust our friend and he begin work on the First week of May.⠨⠨The first week went well, progress was being made and the work seemed really good. There was still work left to do after the first week and I donâ t think he expected that. This started a month + long process of him ignoring calls, rescheduling us, and over all just not finishing the job. As our frustration grew and we got more and more assertive about him finishing the job he finally â cavedâ and came out with sod that looked 4 days old and just laid it down on top of dirt, no scraping, no lightning mix, didnâ t even cut out holes for some of the sprinkler headsâ ¦ At this point he stopped all communication with us and his father begin communication with us. He agreed the work done was bad and needs to be fixed. However it was too late in summer and too dry to re sod the areas done improperly. We agreed that was a small chance the sod would survive with some extra fertilizer but if it didnâ t those areas would be re-sodded in the fall. Moodyâ s father did fertilize the bad areas free of charge which was nice. He also implied the re-sodding would be done for free if needed (I only say implied now because I was under the impression that was explicitly stated but that isnâ t the case anymore) We reached back out to Moody a few weeks ago to come and replace the dead sod (the only area we wanted replaced is the area where he initially placed bad sod in and improperly installed it). He agreed that the sod was not installed correctly and he would take care of it at no charge. He then talked about other work he would like to do in our yard even though we said multiple times we are only interested in getting the one area re done. ⠨⠨He then sent us a quote for $1500 which included the area we wanted redone at no cost ($1500 to fertilize and spread some rose mix around the yard). We reiterated, we only wanted to re sod the areas installed incorrectly and he said he couldnâ t do that work without us doing the rest or we could pay for the price the new sod. He inflated the cost of the other stuff he wanted to do in our yard to get us to pay for his mistakes and when we called him on it he blamed the drought.⠨⠨At this point we are at a loss and just going to go with a real company to fix the issue. The real kicker too is that the sprinklers installed are very finicky, we have to adjust and clean them out all the time, our water usage is higher than before, and we paid a lot of money for it.

Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable company. We hired Moodys for weed prevention and to take care of the flower beds and trees. We paid them well over $300+ a month. We ended up having more weeds than we had before starting with this company. Honestly, we felt like they robbed us of hard earn money. If they could not do the job they should have said so. When I brought this up to John, there was no urgency to get this taken care of. It was as if, I was annoying them to do the job that we had a contract for and hired them to do! Also, their guys are careless, they ended up cutting the wires for the outdoor lights while trimming down the plants and they left and did not say anything. Please hire people with integrity and who are professional. I had better experiences with Emerald Lawns and Agave. I will never recommend this company.

Jacob and his team performed exactly as he said they would. The verbal and written contract explained all services and costs. Would not hesitate to recommend Moody's Landscape and Design.

Jacob and his team are GREAT, Jacob provided a great estimate, then provided a detailed contract, spelling out what they will do including job details. They arrived on time and very detailed oriented with their work. one sprinkler connection was mangled by a tree root, they explained the problem and fixed the problem.
