Originally, Armand Morel was hired for a big renovation job, over $200,000, but he was fired only part way into the initial stage, the demolition. Armand misrepresented the way he would work and was rude to me, and then, after I felt compelled to fire him, he attempted to overcharge me by over $20,600 for the partial demolition he had accomplished to that point. I had to hire a lawyer who advised me to negotiate a settlement, which involved compromises I found difficult to make, but took his advice because the lawyer told me that all-too-often he has seen contractors get away with fraud and theft by changing their business name, leaving the area, or otherwise absconding with people's money. It was necessary for me to watch hours of security camera videos to calculate hours worked in my absence and to make my case against Armand via hard evidence that would be acceptable in court. I lost a lot of time and resources related to my job's completion. My lawyer and I settled for $15,850 on 12/6/23, which Armand did return to me from the large deposit he had required to start the job, but Armand still got away with thousands more than he should have been paid--plus I had to then pay a legal bill of roughly $2500. Not including the impact on my time, energy, delayed job, and well-being, I lost about $7250 by having hired Armand Morel and Morel Construction, LLC. Do yourself a big favor and do not hire this firm! The contractor who picked up where Armand left off is excellent in all respects--what a difference! After the bad experience with Armand, I did get lucky.

I hired Armand to replace a load bearing wall in my living room with a support beam and also replace the flooring in my house. I was please with the flooring work. Owen and Andy were great to work with and worked hard. The poor review I am giving is because of the wall removal project. A month after Armand installed the beam we noticed that the second floor had fallen about an inch to an inch and a half in some places. I called Armand who did quickly came over to see the issue and also brought an architect to view the problem. They claimed that the issue was caused by the walls being lifted when they raised the floor slightly to fit the beam in place. I was not satisfied with this explanation since we did not see enough evidence that the walls had moved. I paid for another consultant to take a look. He quickly identified the real issue. Armand's team had not properly supported the second floor nor had they inspected the floor joists to make sure they were level before removing the supports. We proved this by taking measurements and examining points where the floor had sagged. Armand should have shimmed between the support beam and the joists during installation to make sure everything remained level. My consultant said that this was common and should have been done during installation. It is also something that can be easily fixed. I called Armand with this information, and he said the earliest he could come back to review the work was 5 weeks later. I thought that was excessive but did not push the issue. When the time came for us to connect Armand was now where to be found. He did not respond to a single call, text, or email. This is an issue that Armand caused, yet he shows no responsibility and is clearly content to leave the project unfinished and put all ownership of fixing the issue on me. So now I am forced to pay another contractor to come and fix something that Armand should have remedied months ago. We chose Armand because he seemed to have good prices and a good crew, but were left paying for an unfinished project. I am angered and disappointed by the lack of professionalism and just plain common courtesy. If you hire Armand, make sure you inspect everything before handing over your check.

The deck was done well and on time. Good workmanship. Armand and Owen were professional and pleasant to work with. There was a quickly resolved snafu which did give us some angst. There were no color choices as had been previously agreed upon. We would use Morel Construction again for our building needs.

Armand Morel was professional, versatile and knowledgeable. He completed a variety of tasks related to my kitchen remodeling on time and within budget. I plan to use him again for other improvement projects and highly recommend him to other home owners.

It's nice to have people know how to do things right the first time. Very polite workers. Highly recommend this company for any projects.
