Bathroom - Remodel
set up with advanced payment for a 2 week bathroom remodel. 2 months later fired them and had to complete the work myself. was a continuous fight to get them here to work and James still has not replace my equipment that they borrowed and broke.

Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
James Nabor did not complete the work and has not paid the subcontractors. He promised the work would be done in 6 to 8 weeks and after 19 weeks we fired him to be left with a mess! He tried to cut corners and made excuses. I am amazed at the other reviews. I may have to take legal action.

Bathroom - Remodel
Handy Pro finally finished my bathroom after 12 weeks. It is beautiful and they fixed their mistakes and flaws. I came in under budget, even with adding extras. My vanity is beautiful. I want to hire them in the future.

Slow. Employee issues. Started in Nov 2014 with project designs and still do not have a final from the county. Wished it would just get done the way it was promised and paid for.

James Nabors did an excellent job tiling our garage converted to guest house floor. We had a short timeline and he fit us into his schedule, delivering all he promised and more as we added framing the door to our list, once we saw for ourselves the quality of his work. We have had some difficult times with contractors in the past and would not hesitate to hire James again for future projects. He's been in the business for a while and is a skilled craftsman who really knows his trade. We were concerned that he'd be able to deliver in our short timeframe and he did, at a reasonable price, too! Thank you, James!

Took 2 month to finish the deck, cost over run. not very professional. Still can not figure out how much I actually paid in Idaho sales tax. Book keeping service is horrible. Had to cancel the railing, since I lost all trust Handy pros. Would I recommend them ? "NO"

"Its amazing that we give 100 percent to this client and the job is complete beautiful and signed off by the county for a safe well built and constructed deck that will last for 20 plus years and due to kootanai county permit delays rain and changes the county required us to do by re digging existing piers up to make better that we get slammed for being honest and professional the deck removal and rebuild only took 15 working days I gave the owner all my receipts and showed the taxes i paid so she could get a deduction on her taxes. I have to agree though my hand writing isn't the best so my book keeping could improve."

After looking at several deck contractors in the area I settled on Handy Pros, run my owner James Nabors. I started off a little skeptical as usual when dealing with contractors due to some bad experiences in the past. After my first meeting I felt comfortable using Handy Pros. James is a great guy, down to earth and NO B.S. James had pictures of his last projects, licenses and documents all prepared for viewing. They built my 1000sf deck in about two weeks. Taking cost into consideration, James seemed more then willing to help keep my costs low. The people he used to build my deck were on time, hard workers and most of all polite. I could not be happier with my experience. Thanks to Kevin, Gary and the rest of the crew my wife has her dream deck. Let me say again, its hard to find a good honest contractor. That's not the case here, I would definitely use James /Handy Pros again.

Bathroom - Remodel
Small bath remodel to include spa shower with steam, wall mounted toilet and floor and wall tile. Budget was $10k - $12k. Almost completed price of $19k plus. Time estimate was 3 weeks max. Project was mostly complete after 7+ weeks. Contractor was disorganized. Workers often would not show up until after noon. Many days no one came. There were two major problems. One shower wall with fixtures was to be plumbed to the existing hot water heater, and the second wall of fixtures to a new hot water heater installed in the attic. Both walls of fixtures were supplied by the attic HW heater, which runs out of hot water in about 8 minutes when two shower heads are in use. After the walls/tile were installed this became an unfixable problem. The contractor and his plumbing people were well aware of the situation. The second major issue was that the contractor installed an electrical radiant floor heat system but never read the instructions and never tested the system before installing the floor tile over it. He cut the main conduction wire and voided the warrantee and this kept the system from working. The floor sensing thermostat was mis-installed and the thermostat system improperly wired. I hired an electrician to trouble shoot the system and it works, but with very little temperature control. All the tile is going to have to torn up and replaced and a new system installed. There were half a dozen other minor problems caused by contractor inattention and error. The contractor is a nice person but I have very little confidence in his ability to do a proper job on time and within budget. I won't use him again and will pay someone else to make repairs.

"This is James the contractor I will just state the facts. Owner's wife informed me when we first started that the husband would probably go over budget because he liked gadgets. the time we allowed was 3-4 weeks but the owner decided he wanted a new hot water tank put in attic of course this took more time to accommodate and much more cost as we had to order tank and then install when it arrived , after installation a new insulated compartment needed to be built around the hot water to keep it from freezing . Owner made changes in the jetted tub bath as well he wanted new plumbing fixtures and valves for the tub and to have them rearranged."
