AVOID MOVE US LLC AT ALL COSTS! Move US LLC used deceptive and immoral business practices to get my business, stating that moves take between 1-3 weeks. That turned out to be a complete lie. They picked up our stuff in San Francisco on 10/01/22, brought it to a warehouse in Sacramento where it unnecessarily stayed collecting dust for 31 days prior to them even reloading it onto the truck that eventually delivered our stuff to New York, NY on 11/11/22. On 10/01/22, the day of the pack and pick up, the lead mover didn't present me with the contract to review until the very last minute after everything was packed onto the truck and I felt highly pressured into signing it. They also chose to present it at a time where they knew that customers would be tired from dealing with an all day moving event and wouldn't likely have the time or energy to review the whole contract on the spot under pressurized circumstances of feeling very rushed as their movers wanted to go home. They first attempted to deliver our stuff on 11/10/22 but the truck didn't arrive in New York until 5:00 pm est at which point it was too late for move in hours per our building co-op policy. Their truck drivers told me they were forced to sleep in the truck overnight just so that they could deliver our stuff the following day. This was the most concerning detail of everything they pulled as it was deeply troubling that Move US would treat their own employees in such an unethical, inhumane way. When we unpacked our stuff, we found damage to our coffee table and a few broken glasses and bowls. In addition, the movers were supposed to reassemble our big furniture. Using a power drill, the mover split the side board of our bed frame which now has an unsightly split. He was also supposed to reassemble our couch but was unable to figure out how to do so. I showed him an instructional youtube video on how to do so but he felt so rushed to get to his next delivery that he made one attempt before promptly giving up and leaving it roughly 50% assembled. Once completely unpacked, we eventually discovered that Move US did not deliver our Dyson vacuum, a 53 pound kettle bell as well as an entire shelf rack. They failed to account for these items on the itemized inventory list but they were absolutely included in the shipping. 1 day prior to delivering our stuff, we found out that they decided to add a $1,150 shuttle fee as if they had just figured out that day that you can't navigate an 18-wheeler through many streets of Manhattan. They threatened to delay delivery if we didn't pay the remainder of our balance in full at the beginning of the delivery and moving in of our stuff. Once we unpacked our stuff, we also noticed that many of the large boxes were not fully or even half way packed. Considering their initial Cubic Footage (CF) estimate was 850 CF at $5,253 had jumped by an aggressive 26% to 1,150 CF at $7,107, it was blatantly obvious that the movers (via instruction for Move US or through sheer incompetence) didn't attempt to pack our stuff as efficiently as possible which directly resulted in such an escalated price. Between the CF inflation that resulted in a $1,854 increase, their unmentioned shuttle fee which was an additional $1,150, as well as several other fees Move US decided to tack on, their initial estimate of $5,616.69 skyrocketed to a final bill of $9,218.17, a $3,601.48 increase and 64.1% price gouge. The company made no attempt to make right on or even acknowledge the fact that they held our stuff in a warehouse completely unnecessarily for an entire calendar month, leaving us to live uncomfortably without our belongings for 6 weeks. We had to sleep on an air mattress for the entire 6 weeks which resulted in my fiance developing back issues. This oversight on their part resulted in severe stress and anxiety which ...
