The technician, Raymond, was quick to diagnosis the problem with my refrigerator and even though it was a Friday, he arranged for the refrigerator to work on a temporary basis while the parts were ordered so that my freezer full of food didn't spoil over the weekend. He was very prompt, courteous and professional. I found the repairs to be well worth the cost.

Told Mr. Appliance of Surprise 8/23/18 approximately at 4:30 pm that freezer's low temp alarm was taking longer to resolve happened few times over past 6 months thought may need service. Just purchased over $200 food/meat and wanted to prevent failure. Was advised of $85 diagnostic fee (waived if recommended work done). Schedule for 8/24/18. Freezer alarm stopped approx 5:15 8/23/18 & freezer was maintaining temp when tech arrived. (Incorrect notes on service receipt say I said freezer was not holding temp never said). Food was frozen solid when tech arrived 1st time freezer clearly maintaining safe temp at that point. Tech Jason arrived but made no attempt to diagnose the problem said coolant needed charging. Said he was sure this was probably before he arrived. Charged coolant, said temp down to -11 & left. Here only 10 mins. Left immediately after tech and returned 2 hours later with freezer alarm going off and all food in door thawed. Stopped freezing within mins of his departure. Called Mr. Appliance back and said they needed to come back. Tech (again-big hurry). Asked him about very hot outside of freezer and he blew that off that was the compressor. Replaced a Schroeder valve he said had failed, recharged and said temp back to -11 & left. Here about 15-20 mins-no longer. Hour later, alarm going off and freezer extremely hot on all sides. Internal temperature over 34 degrees. Lost over $200 in food. Had Appliance Works out next day (Mr. Appliance not open weekends) and their tech showed me the first tech had way overfilled coolant. It was reading between 38-40 psi & it should be 6-8 psi. He said this very likely caused Schroeder valve failure. Reduced pressure & warmed condenser coil to allow it to start running again. He said overcharging causes coolant to build up ice inside coil preventing circulation so compressor works constantly trying to cool (hence outside of freezer so uncomfortably hot) & this can cause irreversible damage to compressor. He said and showed me the line leaving compressor had ice residue on it, which it should never have indicates an overcharged system. He said the first tech should have diagnosed it and explained (if coolant was truly low?) that any leak would cost more to repair than the cost of a new unit. He said he should have just filled the coolant to proper level (if I wanted) to allow the freezer to continue functioning until any leak got so bad it warranted replacement. Mr. Appliance instantly killed a working freezer. No diagnosis for $85.00 diagnostic fee. 8/27/18 contacted Mr. Appliance and spoke to manager Antonio. Advised what transpired expected a full refund. Said unit had been grossly overcharged. He argued and sent a doc indicating the charge level was 40-50 psi based on ambient temperature of 80 degrees. He sent a chart for auto pressures not refrigerator/freezer pressures which R NOT based on ambient temp but desired internal temp & correct amount of coolant. Told him Appliance Works invoi

Raymond was awesome! When I hired the first company to install my garbage disposal and was told I needed new plumbing first (which I know I didn’t as all garbage disposals are standard), Raymond showed up and had it done within 45 minutes. He was friendly, professional and cleaned up after himself. I highly recommend Raymond at Mr Appliance!
