"I understand your frustration. Yes, this part was discontinued. However, for your particular appliance many other parts are NOT discontinued. Therefore until the technician diagnoses the exact problem and part required there is no way for us to know what you need and if it is available. Hopefully you were able to find a good replacement for your appliance. Please let us know if we can help in the future."
"Mr. M. [Consumer name withheld at their request], sorry you did not want to follow through with the work you authorized. When you contacted us on a Friday afternoon we responded and scheduled our first appointment on Monday at your home. An appliance technician came to your home to diagnose the issue with your oven. The technician quoted the total cost to repair your oven. After you agreed and signed accepting the quote of $324.16, you even secured your signature with a $100.00 deposit. The technician was then asked to diagnose an issue with your clothes dryer. The technician found a significant issue with your dryer's electrical outlet. The material around the dryer leads have melted and present a substantial fire hazard. The technician performed the diagnosis of your dryer at no charge to you. After the technician had spent just shy of one hour in your home, our customer service team ordered and paid for the part you requested. Had you followed through with your commitment, the technician would make a second trip to your home to professionally install the oven element and clean the inner workings of the oven (cleaning at no cost). Between the two visits the customer service team would have received the part to inventory, issued the part to the technician and documented the one year warranty on your part and labor. Even when you called to cancel your order you talked to our excellent customer service representative and had two more conversations with the owner. So, while you might think the cost of all this is expensive, I believe in retrospect you can see all the time and people involved in allowing you the opportunity to learn the part number from our tech and order a part with no warranty and spend your Saturday afternoon repairing your stove. I hope you were able to accomplish your repair."
