Mr. Electric of Chesterfield

Long story short, an outside electrical outlet was installed to use to charge my Electric Vehicle. Worked fine for two years, then just stop charging; however other items (car vac, drill, other lower current draining machinery) plugged into the outlet worked fine!? Turns out my EVSE (charging cable that came with the car) had intelligent software inside to alert me to an issue: an open ground issue. The outlet was half/butt installed and had burned out part of the wire (ground melted). Thankfully it did not cause a fire. Cost me $400. Some say I was ripped off. I feel I could have paid exponential more. Even gravely. Beware!

Gave great insight and ideas for my basement. Just when I thought I have figured out my plan, Mr. Electric sent me a professional with different avenues I never thought of. To top it off, it wasn t to sell, just generally looking out for my best interest and safety.

Very responsive but their prices are higher than others. Didn't find that out until after the visit when I shopped around. I appreciated they were available to come out at 8 pm one evening for an emergency service call (burning smell at electrical panel box). Brian was very knowledgeable and professional. The visit went from diagnosing the issue to installing a temp fix (temp circuit breaker) in a matter of seconds. I should have asked cost. Temp fix installed because he wasn't avail for another 10 days to do perm fix (new panel). My fault for not stopping him to clarify cost of temp fix. Cost of service visit was bundled into contract for new panel box. I paid the mandatory 50% deposit against the cost of the new panel( is that customary?). Next day I found a more reasonably priced contractor who installed new panel immediately. Imagine my surprise when I called Brian for a refund and to cancel contract and found the bill for the temp fix was one third the cost of a new panel. Again, my fault for not slowing things down. If I had known I would not have had a temp circuit breaker put in. The temp fix was removed next day, waste of money.

Efficient and courteous.

First and foremost I must start this review by saying if you are looking for electrical work in your home you can stop your search now because Mr. Electric is the guy to use. I have had great experiences with people coming to my home before but Brian absolutely blew them all away with his top notch service. He is by far the most professional, curtious, friendly, honest, and hard working individual that I have ever used for work in my home. I left Brian a message after discovering an electrical issue in my home and not only did I get a call back within 15 minutes but due to an opening in his schedule he told me he could be at my home to diagnose my issue in 30 minutes!!! This was huge for me because I was worried my issue might be a fire hazard. After arriving and inspecting my home Brian not only diagnosed the issue he actually took me and showed me where my issue was coming from as well as showing me what it was doing and explaining why it was happening. Per my request he also inspected the rest of my home as well as under my house to see if I had any other issues. After his inspection we sat down and went over everything and he broke it down into things he thought I really needed and recommendations that I might want to do even if it was later on down the road. I want to make it’s very clear that he DID NOT ever act like a pushy sales person or try to over sell anything to me that I didn’t want to get done at that time. He layed everything out and gave a detailed explanation on why he thought each was a necessity or a recommendation plus gave me all my options and simply let me make my own choice based on his expert knowledge. I ended up choosing 3 things that I agreed needed to be done. When he came back (just 2 days later) to do the work I could not be happier with how things look and the quality of work!! MOST IMPORTANTLY above the already excellent service when he went to complete some work in the attic that he discovered during the inspection (that was not up to code and was a fire hazard) he was able to use just half the parts he thought he was going to need. Even though I had to agree to pay a specific price and I would have been none the wiser he told me that he didn’t have to use all the parts and cut my total bill by $140. That is honesty and good character at its finest. I would not only recommend Brian to friends and family but if I heard a complete stranger mention needing an electrician I would go out of my way just to recommend him. Thank you for the great experience Brian!! I will definitely use you for all my electrical needs now and in the future.

I received a call regarding my issue within 5 minutes of registering on this site. Brian called promptly to discuss my problem and after explaining I had been out power on one side of my house for a couple weeks he offered to come out immediately. He even went so far as to advise me of a potentially cost saving option. He was very courteous and professional. The work was completed in a timely manner and Brian took time to address my questions. Overall I’m very pleased with my experience.
