When we bought an older split level house, it had impressive hardwood floors upstairs in the living room, dining room, study, and on the stairs leading downstairs. These floors weren't stained, but a clear coat of polyurethane was applied about ten years ago and was free of any scratches. The plan was to redo the rest of the upstairs with raw oak flooring; include the tile area around the fireplace, and to install a pre-finished oak flooring throughout the downstairs. Since the original floors weren't stained, it should have been a matter of stripping the wood down to the raw form to match the new raw oak floors and applying the new polyurethane. At this time, I had to leave town for work, and the floor installers (a different company) were completing the installation around the fireplace where the tile once was. I wasn't able to inspect this work after they finished, and oh what a train wreck it was. The installers ( a different company) did a terrible job installing the piece work around the fireplace, and Mr. Sandless just applied the polyurethane right over the top of the crappy install. I get that they didn't do the install, but why not give me a call or send a few pictures before proceeding knowing that it would have to be redone. The crappy patch job around the fireplace was redone, and the polyurethane needed to be reapplied not only on the patch job but throughout the upstairs due to thin spots, color mismatching, and an overall crappy job. After numerous attempts to fix their work, Iâ m still left with the following: 1) I was told that three coats were used. It might be, but it looks as if one was used, and there isn't even a shine. 2) In numerous areas, I have found dried bubbles that will need to be resanded, and polyurethane reapplied. 3) Color matching is off, and you can see the difference when entering the bedroom from the living room.

I like the way of Ted interacted me for the project. He did very quick and very professional. For the quality of product, I rate only 3.5 as there was good as my expectation. There is quite a bit of dirt left on the floor that he should clean before finishing. It appears the entrance so it makes me uncomfortable to face everyday.

Just vacuum or sweep the floor before you seal in all the dog hairs, human hair and etc.
