Mr Moto's CONSTRUCTION

It went along well until the last day, when I mistakenly overpaid him by $2000.00. Before he left, we discussed what the final amount should be, since I had asked him to paint the one wall in the laundry room and the small portion in the attached bathroom. He asked for $3200 and I countered with $3000. He said that was all right, and I wrote a check for $3000, not remembering that I had already paid him two checks for $1000 each. I had a lot going on that afternoon and I was distracted because I was also writing a check for my cleaning person and getting ready for my family's visit. My son, who checks my bank account, saw the $3000 that was cashed and said, "Mom why did you pay this guy $5000? I thought his bid was $2750." I was in shock that I had overpaid. Jason knew he had been overpaid (I have his text from Friday, April 25 where he mentions that I overpaid him. This was the day after he finished the job) He also replied to my daughter and son's text on Monday and had agreed to repay the $2000 via Venmo. This was the last response we received from Jason and he has ignored any further requests to resolve this situation.

Jason was very respectful and he completed the work fast. He is great at his job!!
