Jim is is very nice and pleasant (I loved his sense of humor!!), but his work ethnic is very poor. I hired Jim on 2 different occasions, both out of his realm of work. First to replace 2 beams and one joist in my basement. I trusted him and left him the key to get in. The job seemed to go good, until I started showing other people his work. They pointed things out to me that I didn't realize were wrong. Most importantly, he never finished the job or cleaned up after himself. My neighbors were telling me he was at my house all the time, while very little was getting done on the inside. I eventually ended up changing my locks after confronting him. Then I didn't see him for some time. He came back and apologized and said he would finish. So, I forgave him and gave him a second job; replacing my kitchen floor for a full remolded kitchen. Only this time there was numerous other workers working behind him. The other workers pointed out mistakes he was making. He was paid in full for a job that he he made lots of mistakes with, never said anything to me about the mistakes and never finished the job. When I confronted him about being paid in full and not finished, he copped an attitude with me. I feel he took advantage of me, since I am a single woman. I would not recommend, especially other single women, hire Jim for carpentry work.

Jim Murray was extremely easy to work with and did a great job

Nice guy, but concrete steps look unfinished. Different shades of color, rough edges, not properly sanded. To a layperson looks like some areas had a top coat with an unfinished edge that will allow water to get behind it. Less expensive than other contractors, but now I have to finish steps myself.

Had my concrete patio extended and walkway added. Jim was quick to answer any questions I had and kept in touch through the whole project. I decided to excavate myself to save some money and the price he quoted was $100 less than I originally budgeted. He's fair and will work with you. I would have given him 5 stars but nobody is perfect :)

Great job and good personality

Jim is a very down-to-earth guy and a pleasure to work with. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he also gave me his professional advice that enhanced the beauty of my patio within my budget. This work has made my house complete & it was so nice to see a father and son team work so well together. I am so happy with my new patio and steps.

Jim was an absolute pleasure to work with. He went well above and beyond my expectations and made sure I was happy with the project every step of the way. He is very laid back and will work within your budget, time and constraints. I couldn't be more happier with our results. You can tell Jim isn't one of those contractors just trying to make a quick dollar. He really does care about assuring your satisfaction. Although I was skeptical with going with the cheapest price...Jim delivered everything I expected!

Jim was great. The project was started and completed earlier than expected and we are very pleased with the end result. We would definitely use Murray construction again.

Jim Murray did a great job meeting a tight schedule and providing quality workmanship. All work aspects were done as per the job proposal. No short cuts were taken.

He was prompt and courteous. Well within my budget, did a super job, and gave me tips on cementing and concrete work. I would definitely recommend him to my friends who need that type of work done. I'll ask him back to do more in the near furture..

Had Jim put a sidewalk in for me. The job itself looks great the only problem was it took him a whole week to do the job mainly because they only worked a 4 hour day.

We hired Murray Construction to complete our concrete sidewalk project. They did an outstanding job excavating the area, laying stone, and working with the concrete that was delivered. We were informed daily about how the project was progressing. The sidewalks look great! They have a nice texture to them and were careful sloped as needed. We are very pleased with the work Murray Construction did on our sidewalks. I'd highly recommend their professional and affordable services.
