Central A/C Installation
Do not use My Guy Services for HVAC work. We spent nearly $20,000 on a new system during our renovation, and while they insist it?s ?properly sized? on paper per a Manual J calculation, in reality it is completely inadequate. Our system runs nonstop, doubling our power bill, and still leaves the house uncomfortable?60?61 in winter when set to 70, and 76?78 in summer when set to 71. My Guy deflects by citing the 20-degree ambient differential standard, but our system couldn?t cool past 75?76 when it was exactly 90 outside. Other HVAC providers have since confirmed the system should have been upsized to account for our 1948 home?s lack of modern insulation and full western sun exposure. The result is a $20k system that is technically defensible but practically unsuitable, and the prospect of another $10k in system upgrades.
