Reviews
Write a ReviewAs a small Interior Design Studio I have high expectations for the people who enter my clients homes and bring my projects to life. My Handyman was referred to me by a colleague and I couldn't have been more delighted! Not only is Trent extremely organized and efficient with his projects but as fast as they moved they never once cut corners! All of the crew was wonderful and very good at what they do. I've already hired them for another job and am looking forward to many more projects with them!
I hired My Handyman to help with a water leakage problem in my bi-level home. They came out promptly to diagnose the problem and provided a reasonable estimate. Within a week they had replaced my patio door and the rotted floorboards underneath. They kept me updated and did the work exactly as promised. Reliable and trustworthy. Cleaned up afterwards. I am thrilled with the results so far and would recommend Trey and his staff for your home project. I will use them again for future projects.
I was drastically overcharged for the work that was done. I cannot give poor remarks for the quality of work, as it was good, however the reasoning given for the total cost was sketchy and dumbfounding. I was told the total charges were for "two full days of work" which was actually about 10am-4pm on the first day and 9am-11am on the second day. That would equal 8 hours of work, not two full days. I was also charged the hourly workers cost for them to go out and "find matching trim" while the project was being completed even though they had already been over to my house twice to estimate out the job and determine materials. There was also an additional option I could have gone with, which I declined, that they said was not included in the overall final line where I signed. It was clearly apart of the final line as it was listed with the rest of the work that was done. They then charged the full amount on the quote including the dollar amount for the option I didn't go with. My father is a lawyer and looked it over and said this contract and the way it's written is "flimsy at best" however my wife and I were planning to sell our home and we didn't want to get into a lien being put on the house or any legal back and forth that would prevent us from prepping the sale. I definitely was had by them and will never use their services again. I was charged over $1,000 in the end for a small corner section of drywall repair and a few pieces of trim being installed. I highly recommend to stay away from them.
We have already spoke with this customer and explained the wording in the contract. It clearly stated in 4 separate sections exactly what we would be doing, and only one of which said optional and had a separate price next to it. The customer specifically asked for that portion of the bid to be separate when we met with him. Nowhere in the contract did it say how long the project would take. We completed the project promptly and to the specifications agreed upon by the customer. The Customer was charged WAY less than the cost for two days of labor and is speculating at what our hourly rate is. The customer didnt want the project completed hourly plus materials. He wanted a firm and final bid amount for the project which we gave him, he agreed upon, and that is what we charged him upon completion. It is unfortunate the customer had a bad experience with us and for that we do apologize because we want every customer of ours to be thrilled with their experience. BUT with that being said, we resolved this issue LAST YEAR when the work was completed and we both agreed the work was completed per the contract and the customer paid the bill. Thank you! My Handyman
I was charged twice the amount MY Handyman quoted me. The worker ran into a problem and didn't know how to fix it. Ultimately he took longer than an experienced worker would have. He also charged me for the full amount of parts he purchased, but he kept what he didn't use even though I paid for them. I would never use MY Handyman again.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the customer changed her mind on where she wanted the railing mounted after we already cut it so we were unable to use it and required us purchasing a new one. We also advised the customer of how much additional it would be to move the railing to the other location prior to doing any additional work. The customer agreed and stated "it is what it is it needs done". After we repaired the step which came unglued (which we warned her could happen) we finally mounted the railing in the new location. To assist with the cost of the project we removed $127.50 from her bill due to us having to travel to the store multiple times due to all of the issues with the step and needing an additional section of handrail which was not our fault. I truly wish we didnt have the issues with the placement and the step falling apart during install because it was the sole reason of the additional cost. If there is anything else we can do to remedy the complaint feel free to contact me directly. Thank you! Trey My Handyman 614-419-2676
My Handyman's crews were punctual, efficient, polite, and friendly. They left the work area clean every night. I am so happy with the finished project and also happy to have found a professional and reliable company.
I found My Handyman in Home Advisor. This was a small job requiring only 1 yard of concrete. Other companies could not be bothered but My Handyman gave me a great price and more importantly, did an outstanding job. I could not be happier with the results and with the professionalism of Trey and the crew he sent. The next day Trey sent a man out to remove the forms and he took extra care to pack the area with dirt where the forms were. He swept up, and did the job as if it were for his home. Great company...Their motto is "One call does it all" I would highly recommend you call them.
Top notch professionals! Very positive experience. Install of multiple difficult projects all completed in a single day! Workmanship, install time frame, pricing all great and matched price quote to the penny!
My Handyman gave me a quote over the phone which was rebuffed when they came out and looked at the job. They then gave me a quote of 2x the original quote; however that's not what I ended up paying them. I ended up paying them 3x the original quote. WHY? Because they bill by the hour. Remember that if you hire them, they will give you a quote that could be off by 300%. That is not uncommon was what the service guy told me. In response....it might be common but it is not right.
Thank you for posting a review of our company. When we spoke over the phone you had explained that the project involved replacing a sliding glass door with an exact replacement of what was there before. Upon arriving on the job we found that was not the case. We informed you of the changes that were needed and advised you of the estimated time and cost. During installation you never voiced any concerns regarding the hourly rate nor did your request a bid amount. You advised us to complete the work. Please contact me directly with any questions/concerns regarding your project. Trey Curran
He came within 24 hours and fixed my exterior trim issue. The quality, price and service was excellent and I'll definitely use them again when we have a project I can't do.
My Handyman bailed me out after a big box retailer's installer refused to install a microwave because they had to drill through tile. After taking a day off work to be home for this installation, I was left with a microwave in the middle of my kitchen floor. I talked to Trent from My Handyman about my situation and a few hours later the job was done. I am glad I picked the right handyman service and grateful he was able to get the job done so quickly. I will definitely be using My Handyman again.
