I paid 50% downpayment to Ulises on March 12, 2026 for my backyard landscaping project. It has been more than three months since I made the deposit, but Ulises has not yet started the landscaping work. Today, Ulises informed that he is filing for bankruptcy.

Warning: If you have a problem with the install, you will get no support from My Son?s even with a warranty. These guys do not know how to design an irrigation system. During the initial installation everything went relatively smoothly. The problem came a couple of months later after when large areas of the lawn died. My Son?s came out and said they were having a similar issue at other installs and it must be bad sod. I decided to measure the irrigation levels at various points in the yard. What I determined was the irrigation system was poorly designed- some areas of the yard were saturated and others were bone dry. I?ve been promised for a year now by Ulises that they will fix the design and lay new sod but all I?ve received month after month and week after week are excuses of why they cannot come out. You get what you pay for and unfortunately what you get with My Sons are excuses, lack of knowledge of how to design irrigation systems and poor support after installation.

Ulises and My Son's Landscaping have disappeared with our 50% deposit. Ulises gave us a reasonable estimate back on April 2, 2026 and said they could start within 1 to 2 weeks. We gave them a 25% deposit at that time. After broken promise after broken promise they finally did 1 day of work on May 22. We gave them them another 25% then and once again they promised to show up the next day, then the next week , then the next week and on and on and we have not seen them since then. It has been over 2 months and over 100 phone calls and text messages and they have 50% of our money still with our backyard torn up and 1 day of work to show for it. Clearly this company can not be trusted to actually do the work that they have been contracted to do. We have been forced to take legal action. Horrible experience, paid down half the price of work in October 2025?. Today Feb 26-26 the job has not began. Thousands of of dollars paid forward with no respect or responses of highlights/updates of contract signed in October 2025. We were informed Late November 2025 of a job delay which is understandable but now 5 months later with neglect and no work completed.

There are always bumps in the road for a project like a fence. Uli, the main man, was always spot-on solving every problem. The crew was courteous and professional. My neighbors participated in the cost and everyone was pleased. One even hired My Sons Fencing for extra fence work.

From the very beginning, Uli was a fantastic communicator. He responded within hours of sending in the first inquiry, then came over and spent at least an hour taking measurements, offering suggestions, and making sure he had a clear idea of what we wanted. He sent along a quote a few days later and we negotiated on a few things. He made us feel at ease by offering to use a more formal contract if it would make us more comfortable. Throughout the entire process, Uli proactively texted or called to make sure we felt good about everything or had any outstanding questions. We were even texting back & forth a few times around midnight, tossing some ideas back & forth about the landscape plan. With the heavy rains at the end of spring/early summer this year, Uli and his crew were delayed a few weeks from the original start date, but he let us know weeks in advance â it wasn't a last minute surprise. From the first day the crew started until the end, it was a great experience. They did an incredible job demo'ing the entire backyard (hard to know from the pictures), doing grading work, tearing out some rather large & gnarly trees/plants and placing a lovely layer of fresh soil around the entire yard, which will make planting everything so much easier. Every single day, Uli let us know when the guys would be showing up (so we could let the dog out) and constantly texted us asking us to make sure they were doing everything correctly and how we wanted it. We were able to make some adjustments along the way without any issues. Uli also replaced our back gate and even had the guys re-do some of it because he didn't like a few planks that were used. This speaks volumes to Uli's work â he demands good quality. All that to say, we are INCREDIBLY happy with how our project turned out. It has opened up & transformed our backyard and will really come together when we start getting plants in. We heard several horror stories of landscapers and other contractors who did a poor job or didn't fulfill what was agreed upon, but we feel so lucky to have found Uli and his crew. If you need any landscaping, hardscape, etc. done, you should definitely call Uli (we will be on future projects)!

Project hasn't begun yet due to weather conditions. Kept all appointments, showed up on time, and has kept me up to date on progress. My Sons is going to do the work the way I want. ER Landscaping never showed up for appointment and never contacted me after missed appointment. Other companies wanted to change what I wanted done and proposed landscaping in their artistic vision at 3 times the cost bid by My Sons. So far so good, if the weather ever cooperates.

This company was awesome. Our neighbor's fence was rotting a 15 feet of it had fallen down on our property. He refused to help us pay for any part of the replacement. He was unreasonably threatening to cut down our new fence if we built one, which would require the removal of his rotting fence at our expense. He was rude and threatening to the workers and me. The My Sons owner, drove from Golden to Southwest Denver to work with the guy and come to a solution. Though we had to pay for an extra fence facing on the neighbor's side. He gave us a great price on the materials and provided the labor below cost. He was able to get the fence beautifully built the next day. We are grateful for the security that the well built fence provides for us from a disturbed neighbor. "My Sons Fences & Landscape" Handled a very difficult issue with grace and skill. We are grateful to them and appreciate their quality work. We don't speak to the neighbor now and he avoids us. So it's ALL GOOD now.

My Sons Fences and Landscape Contractors provided very good value with prompt communication and a flexible schedule to install a cedar fence in my backyard and haul the existing fence and concrete. The crew even worked in poor conditions to get the project done quickly. They provided the best estimate compared to six other contractors I consulted in the Lakewood, Colorado area. They even provided a creative and very practical solution to a concern I had about the fence intersecting a utility pole. They also provided suggestions for potential additional improvements in a no pressure and practical style that made me feel my questions were thoroughly addressed. Uli and his crew did an amazing job on our large backyard project. His whole team are very hard workers. Creative, very professional, amazing customer service and knocked out our project quickly. Uli was great to work with and provided a lot of great ideas for us to consider while helping us stay within our budget. He designed a beautiful backyard for us including concrete stamping, fire pit area, sod, sprinklers and decorative landscaping rocks. We love our new backyard and highly recommend Uli for your landscaping needs. We definitely plan to use him for all our future projects.
